The good news: I’ll be at Blade Show on Friday and Saturday. This is actually my first Blade Show. I’ve had schedule conflicts for years, but this year Blade Show took priority, because...

More good news: I won’t be empty handed. The prototypes of some new versions of the RSK will be on display at the Benchmade booth. :D

The bad news: The Benchmade Doug Ritter Fixed Blade will not be one of them. :(

The good news: While frustrating, as will eventually be revealed, this will end up being a really good thing for all concerned and well worth the wait. Really! I promise!

More good news: The Benchmade Doug Ritter Fixed Blade is not the only fixed blade I’ve been working on. I’ll be splitting my time between the Benchmade and Camillus/Becker Knife & Tool booths! Some folks prefer smaller knives and some prefer larger knives. I aim to please. If I’m not at the Camillus booth, ask to see the prototype RSK MkII/BK12...

Looking forward to meeting many of you.

Uh, that he is designing a knife for the Becker line?
Let's just say that Ethan and I are good friends and good friends can sometimes work togther to everyone's benefit... ;)

This thread is worthless without pictures!

;)

Are you allowed to tell us more Critter about the Benchmade collaboration?

:D

Hopefully we'll have some other handle options available. :)

Can someone take pictures of the prototypes at Blade, if you're allowed, and post them here?

I am hoping for a small edc sized Becker fixed blade.

by the way, I got my Rittergrip last week and love it.

Sorry, but I haven't even seen this latest series of prototypes myself and photos of the first ones would not do anyone any good. I'm sure someone will take shots at Blade to post.

Nope, sorry, not yet. But a knife does have two ends... :D Think monochromatic... Actually, I'm probably saying too much already.

Well, small is a relative thing :D

Thanks very much. Music to my ears.

Hrm... So possibly a black blade or a silver or grey handle? :)

I don't suppose you're taking preorders at this point?

Nope. Twice burned, third time shy. Aeromedix is not inclined to take pre-orders. Brent (and I) want happy customers. Pre-orders make assumptions about delivery, the control of which is entirely out of your hands, and often out of the hands of the sincere and good folks who make honest promises that may not be kept for one reason or another. Not a pleasant experience for anyone and Murphy is way too likely to make an appearance or two, or three... :(

And I fully believe you! After testing out your RSK Mk1 I would be happy to pre-order *any and all* knives with your name on it - folder or fixed - without even seeing photos or getting specs :)

Thanks so much for all your great work!

If you mean 10"+ as large I hope you addressed the edge issue problems they had with the Patrol Machete. Nice to see such a detailed spec page on the folder, it helps a lot to know the reasoning behind the design.

Nope, not nearly that large. :D

Thanks for the compliment on the RSK MkI page. Once the RSK MkII is in production, it will have its own detailed page. Knives are so personal, I like to be able to explain why I did what I did and its advantages, as I see it. I don't expect everyone to agree or feel the same, but for those that will, these knives will hopefully fill a niche. The RSK MkII will fill one of those niches.

Doug,
I can't wait to see your new designs. The RSK Mk I is my favorite EDC (in my pocket as I type). Show us pictures as soon as possible, please! :D

Another fan here! The RSK MK1 is my favorite EDC ever too! A great knife and I am very interested in future Doug Ritter products.

Wow! Well I hope some info can be posted here or Equipped after Blade since I can't attend. I am dying to see what else you have on coming out!

Will I be able to get matching serial numbers to the ones on my Grip and Mini-Grip? At LEAST on the Benchmade one?
