Doug Ritter Mini Griptilian 556?

The Prices will stay the same as they were, I will post all of the products up on the site this week for pre-order with the prices. Doug Ritter sets these prices, not Knifeworks.

Thanks,

Roger

Ouch...your pricing is typically very good. Especially with your Benchmade coupon codes.

Great to see both Roger and Doug here in this thread! I know I'm not alone in looking forward to some great new things, and the continuation of some great old things, from the new partnership. I hope your trip this week went well - hoping for great results.

John

Ritter mini-grip is the 558. They are wonderful little knives. I think they are worth the price. I have two coated blades and I'm looking forward to getting the plain. I'm glad Knifeworks is taking this over because Aeromedix was always out of stock. And KW always has given me excellent turn-around time on my orders.

Pick 1 or 5 up when they are available. You won't regret it.

Save the money on the 5 Ritter mini-grips :barf: and you can buy that XM-18 and save your left testicle bro!

I prefer to carry a Ritter Grip over an XM18 - and my decision has nothing to do with the price of the knives.

Wow, never heard something like that. Can I trade you 2 RSK MK 1's for your XM-18? One for carry and a safe queen! :D

If Doug ever made his Grip with solid G-10 slabs & skeletonized SS liners and lost the hollow handle, I'd have a couple for sure!

Thanks, but I have all the Ritter Grips that I want at present (full sized in S30V and M2HS, minis in S30V, CPM-M4 and two in M2HS.
I intend to send my XM18 back to Rick for a refurb and then sell it - and for the price I got it at, not the ridiculous mark-up that I see them going for.

That's a lot of Ritter Grips. Very righteous of you to have your XM-18 refurbished and sell it at your "buy" price, which means you're actually taking a loss on it after paying for the work. Too bad you don't sell on the exchange - I'd keep my eye peeled for the XM-18. ;)

Not really an Apples to Apples comparison. Not a bad blade but $385??????? Holy C**P! That is some cabbage. The XM-18 is very nice but it is also heavy and the grind is very different. I wouldnt know how to sharpen right. Dont get me wrong very nice but also very expensive. I just have heavy sticker shock! The choil is a nice design it is certainly tough but it has to be thick, for a blade thickness of .165" over a 1/2" without the clip. I like the G10 and Titanium. I would consider the HTM also if big cash wasnt a factor. Both of those knife compare better. The Ritter is a better fit for me both front and back pocket! HA

Me tooo!!!!!!! I was looking at G10 grips for it and it starts to make this knife quite expensive. <200 bucks. Benchmade should really do a special edition that is skeletonized SS or Titanium with G-10 Scales. with an S30V blade. This is such a hot knife why wouldnt they?

Beats me? People would be all over it like rabid dogs. I remember when Doug put out his special RSK MK ( ? ) with the special "non-S30V steel," guys were putting out a ton of $$ for custom grips. They were really nice but but the price went up in the range of really "high end" folders, after the conversion.

I keep trying to persuade myself to buy some custom grips for my Grips and just can't get to paying more for the grips than most versions of the knife cost. :(

You are aware that this year there is a Gold Class Grip with carbon fiber grips and a CPM-M4 blade? Pricey, but nice.

Very nice but I'll take that money and buy a Sebenza thank you. :)
I totally agree. Seems like BM has a huge void in there line up. Their most popular model (Griptilian and Mini) has no sweet spot in the middle, a 199 dollar model that once again, has G-10 scales, skel full size liners, CPM-S30V or M390 blade. I like dougs but all it is, is a different blade shape and material, no G-10 and no beefed up liner.

Well...you could put the $255 towards a new Sebenza, or buy a second hand one from the apparently large number of dissatisfied owners who fell for the "Get a Sebenza!!" hype, before realising that it is a fairly mediocre pocket knife.

Or, if you prefer the formidable CPM-M4 steel to Chris Reeve's butter-soft S30V, you could buy the 551BK-101 - a knife that you would never want to sell.

:D

With all due respect Steven Andrews - I've owned a few Grips in my time and sold them because I didn't like them. Now it's just a mental block, I'll never buy another one, no matter how it's decked out, unless they fix it as I describe in an earlier post.

I recently bought a new large Sebenza 21 and to say it's mediocre is rather out of the norm. CRK doesn't win Blade awards for quality every year for no reason.

As far as soft S30V and hard M4 - ya know they all cut my fingers indiscriminately and I don't care if it's 154, D2, S30V, VG-10, VG-1 - if I really like a knife I buy it.

I'm not a Sebenza fan, I've just had experience with both knives and prefer the Sebenza over any Griptilian that's manufactured at this time.

If I'm a true fan of any knifemaker it's Rick Hinderer, I love his XM's! ;)
