Douglass Field-S Oil Lighter

I bought them for a trial of concept before Iputting the money down for the Douglass. :)
.

Gotta agree with unwisefool. If you like the overall feel of the lighter and the brass, I think you will find the Douglass in a completely different league. I am debating on selling my Neo and getting the Field S which is ridiculous for me as I have no need for a lighter. I just really appreciate the overall craftsmanship and precision.
On the other hand, It would be upsetting if you spend several times more and still didn't like it.
Oh well, guess I am just rambling. Sorry.

Hmm not sure it's fair to compare the knockoffs performance to the real thing.
it was carry size, flame and whether the brass went yucky fast and needed constant polishing that I was checking. The one I was testing was a ripoff of the Douglass NEO Type III which itself is not as well sealed as the others in the lineup. I wonder if this Douglass is better than this one?

How much was the clone lighter.

Yeah I definitely would not expect it to perform at the same level or have the same tolerances.
Blade HQ had the Neo III for $25 but it's not been in stock for a long while now. Everywhere else runs at the $50+ mark which is why it would be nice to hear it did actually hold its fuel. :)

The Neo series sell in the mid to upper $20 range (if you can find one) and as mentioned, mine has held fluid for well over a month. I don't, however, know how long it would last when used regularly as I only test it a few times weekly. The seal with a screw down cap and o-ring seem to be very good. If you want to use it regularly though, it would be kind of a pain.
The Field S looks to be a work of art.

Another vendor carries them also (not sure if I can mention here) and recently has the Field S in stock but I waited too long and they are gone. I signed up for notification.

Can you send me a message with the name of the vendor? Thanks!

I think I did but not sure if I did it properly. The PM system still seems confusing but maybe it's just me.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but wanted to share an update.
I got my Douglass Neo back in mid February, filled it once and it still fires up. Didn't use it much; maybe twice a month to test it. I know there was some concern over how long it could be stored but mine is still going strong.
