I'd like to buy a Douk Douk. Can anyone provide me with a link to a proven seller on line that sells these and has them in stock on a regular basis. Thanks in advance.

I found the garret wade site but had never heard any feedback on the site. Now that you guys have mentioned it as well, I'll assume it's a solid dealer. To the first responder: google searches don't give me the opinions of bladeforums members while posting my quandry on bf does.

Garrett Wade is longtime-established. high-end purveyor of woodworking tools to the tweed-clad gentry. Picture L.L. Bean selling planes and vises. I've never bought anything from them-- not out of any fear whatever of getting ripped off-- but have often drooled over their offerings. Their website states unequivocally:

100% Guarantee

FYI- I have no connection whatever to the company, just trying to help you glom onto a Dou Douk.

garrett-wade is a reputable company that has been around a long time. no worries there imho as long as price and shipping costs are in line.

I've bought from Garrett-Wade three times. the last time was that luscious brass-handled Higonokami Japanese folder. No problems.

By the way, if you want the Douk Douk as an EDC that fits comfortably in your pocket, I recommend the smaller one, that has an overall length of 6.2 inches. IMHO, the larger one, with an overall length of 7.87 inches, is just a bit too big to carry comfortably and inconspicuously in a pocket. But in both cases, the knife is amazingly thin.

I like to think of GW as an American version of Lee Valley... with more knives! :D

Sadly, Lee Valley no longer carries Douk Douks, so I did some stockin' up on 'em via Garret Wade.

FWIW after reading this thread I contacted Garrett Wade and ordered a large Douk-Douk. Received an immediate order confirmation at 9am. Just got my shipping notification and USPS tracking number. So far I'm very pleased. Much thanks to the OP and Miles Undercut.

Update:

Not a complaint really but thought I'd mentiion it. Garret Wade, at least for my order shipped via UPS Innovations which means UPS picks it up and hands it off to the US Postal Service for delivery. From Garret Wade to my house is 386 miles by road. Shipping via UPS Innovations routed the order all the way past VA to Durham, NC and now has it coming back to VA which added close to 300 extra miles and another day or two to the delivery time. This is my first experience with UPS Innovations and Garrett Wade so I can't say how things would have gone using straight UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail like other dealers use? Just thought I'd put the info out there.
