Dove Season

Nice shooting David. Them will go good on the grill wrapped in bacon with a pepper inside.
you got to love that AG 110.

No rain from Harvey . Pack Rat got flooded down there where he lives.I used my AG 110 to cut the sausage this morning.

E. Kansas had a cool morning 10 days ago and dove numbers dropped. Hummingbirds left with them. Also since there was no hurricane rain, corn being harvested as fast as possible, spreading out birds. Shot poorly. Have to use steel shot on state lands and it's faster speed takes getting use to. I had some that was 1425 fps, duck steel is 1200's fps. Vantage in pocket, but wing bone clippers best tool. The old Buck scissors with the notch work pretty good. Don't have splissors. 300

pj, what kind of dog do you have that will retrieve for you? I recall you having a black lab that is a good retriever. DM
Yes, David it's a Black Lab Male, BLM. Not only does he retrieve , he points.

He's not a very old dog, thanks. I got some more this afternoon and the photo will be loaded shortly. I took 6 in a row then missed #7 & 8. Crumb. Used my wife's 340 to clean them ( like 300 did). It worked well. My dog found all of them. You Buck fans need to come over for a supper of doves and brown rice. With a salad, homemade bread and peach cobbler. Wash it down with sweet tea. DM

You had me all the way to the sweet tea. I like to wash my dove down with a Beaujolais.:D

She is from a registered Portuguese Pointer and the Rottweiler was a good fence jumper. I have trained Rottweiler's to retrieve. They are smart as well. Thanks, DM.

Tiguy, a dark wine is good with doves. Can't fault you for that taste. The Colonel liked it. DM

Mr. Martins dove pic with the new s90v super blue 110....apologize for the delay posting, Sir.20170909_194039_1200x1600.jpg

That A5 is a thing of beauty-how old is it? I have a last-year-of-production Magnum Twelve that I was trying to sell before I decided it's too pretty to part with(got it in trade for an AR15 in .300 Blackout that I didn't use). It's not for sale anymore, and will stay mine.

Also have its sister-Remington Autoloading Shotgun. Pre model 11. I don't shoot it-I already broke it once and fixed it, need to replace the 109 year old springs.

Ray, mine is the Light Twelve made around 1980-83, under the Japanese contract. Yours was likely made under the Belgium contract. Or Remington did a run under their own contract in the 30's. I still carry and shoot mine and it will drop a dove. Light recoil, fast swinging.
jbmonkey, thank you for posting this. Hope all is going well with you and your family. DM
