The important point to remember is that while synthetics are better when wet, they still suck.

Keep your sleeping bag dry!

Again, your down bag will get wet unless you have the conditions that allow it to dry out every day. Those conditions cannot be assured in much of the world.

In my experience, synthetic fills neither suck nor blow. They just insulate.
