Here's what I posted in this thread in February of 2009:

Benchmade 550 Griptilian w/ G10 scales by Kevin Wilkins
Benchmade 806D2
Benchmade 750 Pinnacle
Spyderco G10 Endura
Case large trapper that was carried by my Dad and Grandad (sentimental pick)

Here's how it looks in January 2011:

Spyderco Paramilitary 2 CF/S90V
Spyderco Manix 2 CF/S90V
Benchmade 806D2
Benchmade 750 Pinnacle
Case large moose (I have learned the correct pattern name) that was carried by my Dad and Grandad.

My father has passed since the first post, so the Case is even more valuable to me today.

small regular sebenza
delica 4 g10
sage 2
small tim galyean pro series
Spyderco Para D2

5 you say. Hmmm, this means I have to leave out a few and I don't know if I can do that. But it is only a hypothetical question as the knife gods would never limit me to just 5!! So here goes;

- John W. Smith Extreme SD-3 and my current carry.

- Mike Irie Model 11 Spearpoint

- Kershaw Volt

- ZT0500 MUDD

- Benchmade 9051 AFO II

- Case Humpback Whittler

I'm just glad this is only for fun!!:)

Top five would be;

1. Strider AR
2. Black G-10 Tyrade
3. ZT0205KW
4. ZT0500 MUDD
5. ZT0650ST (automatic)

I've got black and orange Tyrades with tan and blue to come. So I might trade the black for a tan.

This is harder than I first thought as it leaves out my BM610 Rukus, Fallknivev PXL Maroon, Kershaw ti Tyrade, Kershaw Junkyard Dog's (all three models), and a few others.:(

I just went back through the posts and found this one from me back in 5/2009. A lot has changed in the past 1 1/2 years! I only have one of those knives listed here on my current list, and it is the ZT0500 MUDD.

CRK Small Insingo
Spyderco M4 Military
GEC Cocobolo Executive Whittler
Spyderco Gayle Bradley
Queen City Canoe

Well here goes for me: Buck 110, Victorinox Swiss Champ, Ontario TAK, Leatherman Wave, Izula, Spyderco Native. Ok, thats six but I cant do it, I just cant name 5.

Oh, sorry, you said 5 of your folders? Ok, Spyderco Native, Buck 110, Victorinox Swiss champ, Camillius TL29, Buck Omni Hunter 12 point.

1) Hinderer XM~18, 3.5" non-flipper (technically I don't have it yet but it is on the way)
2) CRK Large Sebenza 21
3) Strider SNG, RangerGreen Lego, Tiger Striped Blade
4) ZT/H 0551
5) BM 710

It would suck to have to do that though. . .

Para 2 S90V
Military M4/Ti
BM 710 in M390
Manix 2 CTS-XHP
Para 1
Though the bottom two could be replaced with one of the incoming/Preordered following...
Para 2 CTS-20CP
Military CTS-XHP
BM 805 TSEK in M390
Gayle Bradley
ZT 0200
HEST/F

I'm not sure if I could live with only five, but...

1. BM Skirmish
2. Spyderco CF Caly 3 ZDP
3. BM 806D2
4. Spyderco Ti Millie
5. Victorinox Swiss Tool

...

Andre Tiba - Brazil

A very tough question but I thiink that I can do it:

1) Emerson Super Commander
2) ZT0300
3) ZT0500
4) Case Sow Belly
5) Buck 110
6) Nope can't do it I need a pry bar, Scrap Yard Regulator

I would drop the Commander for the ZT0300 if my arm was twisted hard.

OK .. here we go:

1. ZT 0551
2. ZT 0500
3. ZT 0350CB
4. ZT 0302
5. Spyderco Endura Waved

Well, as you can see I really like my ZT knives. I hardly ever carry them because they are larger and heavier but I sure do like them.

Demko Custom AD10
Sebenza 21
Spyderco Manix
Emerson CQC7
Case cv Stockman (gotta have a slippie):D

I was actually thinking about this the other day.

  1. Hinderer XM-18 3.5" flipper
  2. Hinderer XM-18 3" flipper
  3. ZT 0350
  4. Spyderco Manix 2 Moonglow
  5. Spyderco Endura, combo edge, black blade

DPx HEST/F, Benchmade Griptilian w/Cuscadi scales, and Spyderco Para2 camo/black blade would be my next 3.

hmmm...with all the knives out there, i'd probably up my collection if I knew that I would only be allowed to have 5.

1. Chris Reeve Small Lefty Micarta 21 Sebenza
2. Spyderco Paramilitary 2 CF + S90V
3. ESEE Izula 2
4. ESEE 4
5. Spyderco Salt 1

As an alternative/#6 I would have to say Spyderco Sage 1....(pre taichung stamping.)

I've got other knives that are more expensive than say the salt 1, but all the previously mentioned blades fill utility slots really well. There are some knives which I might like more, but these are pretty great for now.

This is a tough one. I am always thinking that I need to cut down on my knife purchases NAND thinking about my favorite 5 would be a good way to get focused and sell off some of my collection.

1) Large Plain 21 Sebenza
2) Benchmade 940
3) Umnumzaan
4) Spyderco Sage 2
5) Spyderco Military

This does not include my SAK and Leathermans, I can't part with them
