no order,
BM Mini Rukus w/ carbon fiber inserts
BM Skirmish
Emerson CQC7
Kershaw Composite JYDII
BM Griptilian D2

Ritter Grip
Kershaw Tyrade
Kershaw Shallot ZDP 189
Kershaw Leek CPM D2
Spyderco Caly 3 CF ZDP 189

and soon Kershaw OD-1 will have to bump someone off that list...

Barring anything of sentimental value, my five would be:
Yellow Pacific Salt. My go-to blade, even if it is a little big.
Charge TTi. While not strictly a knife, I find it quite useful to have around.
Buck 371 or 382. China Bucks, yes, but I love them. I'm leaning toward the 371 (stockman pattern).
Pardue Mini-grip. Probably my second favorite one-handed opener. Great size, ergos, F&F, and sharpens like nobody's business.
SAK Rambler. Always on the key chain, always at the ready.

I think I might only HAVE 5 folders...
Not in any order:

VIC officer
Byrd Cara
Leatherman TTi...although some people might not count that as a folder I use the knife the most so I call it a folder.
Opinel no7
Knifekits AUS 8 cheap folder.

I only have 3 cheap ones other than this so my choices are easily made.

Well to decide this I had to do some thinking. Only five- Ok so sentimental, looks, utility, dress, self defense, outdoors.... all have to be covered. Went to the knife drawers and worked down the list a bit to:

Narrowed down to the winners:
IMG_3723.jpg

CRKT Crawford Kasper Folding fighter- bigger fighter- self defense and big hard work duties- AUS 6 most likely, partly serrated. Great retention, oh- and the first knife my now wife ever bought me!!

Elishewitz custom folder- the ultimate in modern materials- Damasteel, Blue/black carbon fiber, white micarta, black g10, titanium liners. Solid lockup, a custom make, and feels great in hand.

Boye Dendritic Cobalt folder with marlinspike. Non magnetic blade, very soft RC30's I believe, titanium marlinspike. Awesome for cardboard, plastic work, the marlinspike removes all kinds of staples and light nails. great all around, I've used it for years in a warehouse. Birthday present for me from me and the wife.

Kershaw red handled Composite Leek: Speed safe, composite CPM D2 blade with a hybridized red smoke handle (looks too plain with the regular silver handle). My favorite color is red so it had to be represented. Great slim slicer in all metal.

Case Damascus Stockman. Damascus blade with burnt bone scales. thin blades take a good edge- looks very sharp. Slipjoint for those people uncomfortable with a pocket clip. Fit and finish are not the best but it does look great!

Special mention to my Moon Song Sebenza that I bought in memory of my Mom.

5 Isn't enough.

I have to admit to acquiring a few new knives and my idea of the must have 5 has changed to these guys:

Buck Vantage Pro in S30V
Buck TNT
Case Large Bone Trapper in ATS-34
Buck BG42/G10 110
Buck Wrangler 307 Stockman

It was very hard to leave the Grip and Tenacious off that list. I guess that goes for the Endura, Venom, & S110V Shallot so here is my EDC box that sits next to the computer with various favorites.
