I have an interest in Dr T Knives, David Taber is the maker. There is an ad in the latest "Blade" magazine from Burr King
and he's featured in the ad endorsing Burr King, an email address for him is in the ad, but is non functional.
That is "www.dr.tknives.com". Does anyone have any further info?
Thanx, Jeff

Joe,

Thanks so much...I thought the dot was odd but that's the way it appears in the Burr King ad.

1) "Burr King" sounds like a failed sharpener, or at least, not something to boast about.

2) "Discerning Custom Knives" sounds intimidating; are they more discerning than, like, people? I wonder.

3) I'm glad you got the web address sorted out.

Thanks for posting this Jeff, Dr. T seems to have a great website and I'm certainly thinking about getting a knife from him.

Burr King does sound bad but they are some of the best belt grinders around.

Discerning is a little Haute Couture for me. Little boastful maybe.

You guys need to take a pill, Dave is one of the most humble men I've met. He's really dedicated himself to learning to make these things.

I agree. If your product is exceptional, then you market it to folks that value quality, discerning customers: no problem stating as much.
And Burr King's name I'm sure came from what belt grinders are used most for in big industry ~ de-Burring and snagging castings, stampings, and welds. They've been around a LONG time and make a great product.

It's kind interesting how a simple question about a website address has morphed into an uncomfortable degrading of a companies name
and a few copy points. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. The Old Dog is right, take a pill and relax, life is way to short for this kind
of infantile ranting!

A Humor Fail is never improved through subsequent explanation, but I truly did find the notions of both a "burr king" and "discerning knives" funny.

I in no way meant to cast aspersions on the work of either man, and apologize for detracting from this thread with my remarks.

Lets all take a deep breath, folks. This is supposed to be fun and a little humor is good for that. I didn't read any evil intent into anyone's post, else I'd have said something.

Yeah, I wasnt trying to be nasty either. Just funny how words are used.

His knives look fantastic.
The price point is also very affordable for that quality that seems to be at play.

Darn it Jeff, I maybe contacting a new knife maker.

There's a nice article on Taber in the current issue of Knife World. Lots of good photos as well.
