These just in. The Acorn shield one is my Dad's, and the federal is mine. Both are sporting Antique rag micarta that I acquired early this year.

So, yesterday I went through this whole thread. I never clicked on it before, but for whatever reason yesterday I did . . . let's just say, Dr T's knives (which speak for themselves) and you're enabling I now have an orange handled Vidar on order! Can't wait!

Maybe someday I can acquire a second one with scales like this (these are crazy awesome!):

Isn't "Vidar" a Keith Johnson design? I know Keith lives near and was instrumental in Dr.T's knife
making history but was unaware of Doc using Keith's design.

Thank you Joe for your kind words. I hope you enjoy using them as much as I do making them. I really do need to give credit to Kerry Hampton for reviving the matchstiker pull. He is the knife maker that went back in the old knife books to find and then develop a technique to reproduce the vintage look. In fact, he provided me with the first ten or so pieces of blade steel so I could provide that look on some of my knives. So Kerry Hampton deserves full credit for the look that appears on some of my knives. Attached is a knife I just finished wit a new twist for me.

Thank you for your interest. This knife measures 6" overall. and 3 1/2" closed.

I always thought the Vidar looked quite akin to Jerry's design in the rounder, just a broader knife..and then the same could be said of Gene's front pocket model.

Got one from a dealer. But no birth paper, so not sure which ivory it has. A pure beauty anyway.
