Drawing Program

I would love to see a how to I tried this program a while back and didn't like it. I currently use photo shop cs, the Google program looks like it definitely has benefits to it.

I too would like to see how to use SketchUp for designing knives. I tried a few times but kept creating bizarre 3D aberrations. Currently I just use vector drawings in PaintShop Pro. It also makes it easy to trace elements of other designs I want to incorporate.

i love google sketch-up. really easy to use.
usually I import in google sketch-up a pic of a knife I like, I copy it and add my variations. it works great, I promise!

Thanks everyone, I'm trying out Sketchup Pro and downloaded the eMachineShop CAD software. I have a feeling the eMachineShop may offer some nice follow on services like waterjet cutting, that is if they do very small jobs.

it is in "view" then toolbars then drawing for the word things.

I must have a retarded WORD,

A sketchup knifemaking tutorial would be very helpful. If someone is willing to write it, I have a site that could host it and offer free downloads.

Thanks Patrick. I will take a look.
I found LinuxCad, a paying version that is suppose to be close to Acad on window$. Might give it a try depending on price.

Patrice

PS: By the way, I love Linux. And it's free so it means more money for tools. ;) Probably won't go back to window$ ever again. If someone wants to try, there is a good distribution (Ubuntu) that can be tried out without installing anything first to see if you like it, from a DVD. Anyone interested and wants help don't hesitate to email me. I am not a pro but I'll do my best to help.
