I would have to say my favorite Spydercos are the Para Mili, and the Lum Chinese.

I would love to see a Compression, or Ball lock ( Heck maybe even a frame lock? ) Spydie with the same blade found on the lum chinese. Maybe with a finger choil, and possibly a thumb ramp. G-10 handles, PB washers. In either S30v, S90v, or ZDP. and maybe a slightly larger thumb hole. I would also like to see a spydie with a flipper.

Ah that would be my dream knife.

A flipper... Hmm. Not sure about that. I'd have to see one, because I cant picture that in my mind.

Frame lock Millie would be the sex.

I really just wanna see a Frame/Compression lock Lum Chinese with a finger choil and thumb ramp. We can all dream I guess.

mine would probally be something 2/3 the size of the military, it would have cmp-D2 blade, and i would settle for foliage green G10. but i quess that will never happen ;)

Compression lock doesn't compare to the frame lock---the great advantage of the frame lock is that the harder you squeeze the handle the more locking force is being applied. That's not the case with a compression lock.

Hi Elkins,

When we break 'em, the compression lock is considerably stronger than a frame-lock.

The tough knife that has been talked about so much for so long sounds like my idea of the ideal folder.
If they made it with titanium a compresion lock and coated cpm3v blade as were some of the rumors it would be the best Hard folder on the market.

I have said it before and I will say again, I really like sheeps foot blades, if Sal would come out with a g-10 handled, mid-lock knife along the same size as the big Manix with the same blade shape as the new Embassy ( or even with the same blade shape as the original Marinier) I would buy at least one (maybe 2, Spyderco tends to discontinue my favorite knives by the time I "need" to replace them). How about it Sal? Bought my first Spyderco way back in 1991 ( I think) and been buying them every since.

So, is that with the nested compression lock or the integral compression lock.

If it is just the nested type, that would probably make the ATR one of the sturdiest knives in the world.

That's interesting and more than a little surprising to me. Are you holding them or otherwise applying a lateral force to the locking bar when you stress the frame locks?

I have one of the original compression lock Vesuvius models. Would it really stand up to more lock stress than something like a Sebenza (or a Volpe, to keep it in the family)?

my dream Spydie would be a scalloped G-10 or Micarta scaled, full steel frame (no drilled out holes) spear point 1/4" thick blade x 8" (blade length), with a 1/2" pivot pin mated to a double sealed roller bearing as a pivot, heavy use folder knife.

thank you.

also a Chinook with a 6" blade, and a standard hollow grind (i think thats the grind.....thinner edge for wicked slicing...)

also a Persian, Kris, military and Manix with 6" blades.

more unique knives like the POLIWOG!

bigger blades, longer blades, more jimping!
all with 1/8" to 1/4" steel liners with NO 90's mountain bike tech weenie holes in them......just solid.

all scales forest green, olive drab, tan, black or CADPAT!

Currently, my dream Spydie is baby Persian. 2.5" VG10 blade, hollow ground, black micarta handle.
