Dress boots for outrunning zombies

You need hydrophobic coating on the boot to start with.
I kinda like this though:

Corcoran make some "dressier" style boots that would pass for dress shoes if wearing a tux :)

Comes in lightweight sole option too.

I don't get the toe area on those. I have always hated that look on boots. Does anyone know the purpose of that toe area?

Carolina engineers in your true shoe size. They'll slip around at first, but as you wear them a bit the leather will conform to the shape of your foot, especially if you get a bit sweaty in them (they're oil-tanned so don't worry about waterproofing). Click the picture for a link to a really good site specializing in American footwear.

The only reason you won't be able to wear them formally is scuffs, which have unfortunately begun to overwhelm the surfaces of my pair. But I'm wearing them right now and I testify to their comfort and value. If you take care to not scuff them up too bad they'll look as good in the workplace as they do on any bike or even a trail. (Hey, they worked for Teddy...)
