Drugstore clerk knife

You need something with a brighter colored handle. A yellow Grip would actually be great.

You could also go with something small and unimposing. SOG Bluto would be great, and they are going to be hard to find soon (recently discontinued). You could also get a Böker Nano. Spyderco Dragonfly.

Sorry for the seemingly disconnected thoughts. My mind is elsewhere right now.

Watched Orlando news last night, and robber came in and pointed his pistol at clerk's head. The clerk reached under the counter, pulled out a two-foot long machete and came out from behind the cash register and chased the scared crook right out of the store. Funny.

he's lucky the guy didn't pull the trigger.

Husky boxcutter and a pack of 100 blades. You can leave it in your car. And keep whatever you want to EDC out of it.

Victorinox Swiss One Hand Sentinel. Friendly looking 3.5 inch blade for less than $30.-

Thanks for all the suggestion! I'm not yet settled :0 maybe a bump on this thread would help for even more great idea's

Hey, Nick18. I used to work in a drugstore and I had one pharmacist who said that a regular SAK is a weapon. I kid you not. So the idea of a "customer friendly" knife is kind of funny to me. Heck, I had a bunch of customers who carried guns and at least one who offered to blow a robber away, should we have a robbery while said customer was present.

Anyway, you should look at a Rough Rider trapper liner. At least I think that is what it is called. Should run you around $10-15 dollars. No pocket clip but should ride nicely in your pocket. I looked at one when I was last at SMKW and the only complaint was that it was a little hard to get to the thumb opener thingy.

As far as modern folders, I would personally shy away from assisted openers. Nothing against them but I don't want somebody to cry "switchblade!" in the middle of the store. However, if you do decide on one SOG's Twitch II is decent. Spyderco's UKPK is a good option in the one handed dept. Non locking but still big enough to be used. Very, very light too.

I will try to think of something else in the mean time.

Kershaw Leek or Spyderco Delica/Dragonfly. Both of them even come in a variety of colors, so your light green Delica, orange Dragonfly, or rainbow Leek for example certainly sholdn't appear too threatening.

Or how about a Buck Vantage Avid (small)? Great little edc, made in USA. Bos heat treated Sandvik 13C26 steel.

I'm a pharmacy tech as well presently while I apply to graduate school, and I work almost exclusively with women so I haven't even bothered with carrying a knife at work, despite the amount of times it would have been useful. I would definitely go with something very small and innocuous looking, any slipjoint would probably do. I was thinking of getting one for that exact reason as well. Honestly the most useful tool for working in a pharmacy is a good pen. My Hinderer Extreme Duty not only writes well, but works spectacularly for punching through the seals on medicine bottles.
