Drugstore clerk knife

Kershaw Chive, Scallion, Leek, Skyline, Half-Ton, Stubby
Spyderco Ladybug, Dragonfly
Victorinox One-handed Sentinel, One-handed Trekker
Leatherman Freestyle, Skeletool

The Leathermans are probably the most people-friendly. In my experience, most people tend to ignore the blades on multi-tools. Traditionals and the 91mm SAKs also tend to fly under the radar, but those aren't one-handed opening.

Well as an update I saw a kershaw thermite and felt in love with it... I'll see what what but boss says but am loving this knife :D

Lots of excellent suggestions. I endorse both the Leek and the Delica. Both are excellent knives and can be had in chick-friendly colors. The Leek in that rainbow titanium finish is amazing. The Dragonfly is also a very nice knife; I know a woman veterinarian who uses one.

The thought of a multitool knife is a good one and you can, indeed, get one hand openers. My Leatherman Skeletool CX is one hand opening for the blade, and it's a very nice PE in 154CM. It's razor sharp, holds an edge, and looks innocuous. Plus, PLIERS! :)

Me, I like my ZT knives, but I don't work in a drug store. Never hurts to recognize reality and adapt to it.

Spyderco Delica, Boker Hyper, Kershaw Scallion or Leek and if you want smaller and like Cold Steel how about a Micro Recon 1. Another nice folder is the A G Russell Featherlite folder. Good Luck! Kevin :D:thumbup:

I second the Cold Steel Tuff Lite, or the mini tuff lites which come in 'friendly' bright colours now.

You might take a look at the ESEE Zancudo, a smallish folder that opens and closes one-handed. Blade is AUS8 and a little short of 3 inches long. Very lightweight, thin and not scary looking IMHO. I got one a couple of weeks ago and it has impressed me considering that it cost around $26. I would shy away from the black coated blade version because it apparently rubs off easily.

The Boker Kalashnikov auto with the Wharncliffe blade would be an excellent EDC for this price point and usage. It has a reverse tango, so nice strong tip. The wharncliffe blade is straight - decent substitute for boxing/package razor. Easy to sharpen.

boker ?

Doctor's knife?
One blade to split pills, another non-ground spatula type to count pills without touching them with your hands. And the butt is flat to crush them.

I am going to hazard a guess that your boss will frown upon any assisted opener. The tell tale shnick with the sudden appearance of a blade in your hand automatically screams switchblade to most sheeple. Flippers may have the same effect depending on the action. Something like the new kershaw injection might fit the bill, manual opener with a thumbstud, really classy design, and in a 3 in model.
