Dumb Things We Do With Knives

I've had many bad cuts but one of the worst was actually this morning with my RAT-1. Edge was hair popping sharp but i wanted to touch up the tip real quick since i did some stabbing recently and it was a bit dull. So rather than setting my stone down i held my small 3000 grit stone in my left hand while grinding down the tip with moderate pressure. One slip resulted in this. Severed artery, nerve damage. i should probably see a doctor but i'm tired of stitches and hospitals. We all try to be careful with our knives but a momentary lapse in judgment has the potential to end up pretty bad. It's a bitch to play League of Legends now... not to mention... you know.... using my left hand at all.

WARNING. I don't consider this "Not Safe For Work" but if you consider bad cuts, gore, blood, anything of that sort offensive then please refrain from opening

And how it is now, about 16 hours later.

OK, you need stitches to close that wound.

On another note, my Rat 1 comes tomorrow, I'll be careful.

Didn't happen to me but my dad was playing with my benchmade infidel otf and put his hand in front of the opening and opened it. Cut him pretty good and he was really embarrassed. That's what happens when you are buzzed lol

Last week I dropped an open Cold Steel Voyager and tried to catch it. 'Nuff said there...
A few years back I was at a cutlery shop I frequent when I tested the sharpness of a blade by running my left thumb over it and sliced myself open. To avoid freaking the employee helping me out (and my own embarrassment) I shoved that thumb in my pocket, using my fingers to hold the material tight against it to staunch the blood flow. I then used my right hand to wipe my plasma off the blade on my pant leg while the guy was looking in the case. Finished the whole transaction one-handed!
Right now I'm picking my nose with a Marine Raider Bowie. If I sneeze this could get ugly.

I was whittling a walking stick in the vice. I had it with the blade extending from my closed fist above my thumb, then I wanted to change it so that I had the blade coming out of the bottom of my fist for a draw cut. I spun the knife around in my hand to change grips and my middle finger got a cut to the knuckle, quite shallow but that sucker really hurt and took ages to heal. I would like to say that I changed the way I alter grips but I haven't. Now which of these two is the most foolish?
