Duncan's payback - give away time lets go!!!! WINNER CHOSEN.

Great giveaway, and I would like to be a candidate to win the Henckels!

Here's our Zoey, who's about 10 years old. She's a shelter dog we adopted when our then-9-year-old daughter was begging for a puppy.

Zoey is 25% King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, 25% Welsh Terrier, 25% Manchester Terrier, and 25% who knows what else. We actually did a DNA test on her.

This photo was taken at the vet recently, which is why she's in freakout mode.

Mutts always seem to be friendly quirky dogs because they share character traits of many different breeds.

Our family dog at my moms house is a Rhodesian ridgeback/ German Shepard mix, and she is so quirky, she gets so jealous of the Cat's that she'll actually try to copy them or walk up and push them out of the way when they're getting petted.

Your dog looks like a great friend 👍

Two weeks and two days ago I had to put down one half of my cat duo. My 13 year old kitten had a stroke and was reduced to not much quickly. He wasn't in pain but was really sad seeing him like he was. Even sadder still hearing his littermate brother calling for him every day, especially looking for his buddy at bedtime- they were apart for two nights in 13 years.

But Moxi had a good life, and got to be buried in our pet cemetery with his buddy, our bearded dragon Rex, who passed away a couple of months ago. I've never had a cat so long, and I've never allowed anybody but myself to put my animals down, so it was fairly hard, even for a farm boy!

My buddies were a great factor in me not feeling alone after my marriage dissolution last year. Moxi wouldn't take no for an answer if he wanted to be petted- and had the needle like claws to suggest your hand should be resting on him. One half of my feline Hugin/Munin combo, he even protected my knives for me!!

Me and my "Dawg" Luke. He's the best friend you could ask for. I don't think he really knows he's a dog.

I know you miss your buddy. But I believe you'll see him again.

First of all, I apologise about the delay, this should have been picked some time agao.
We sat down tonight and looked through and our hearts could not decide- there are some lovely friends and stories in here, so we got the Random Number Generator into gear........

Congratulations, Barrett! Enjoy that lovely soddy. I liked all the stories and photos of everyone's pets in this thread.

I didn't enter this GAW because, frankly, I didn't know about it. Around 2 weeks ago my dear cat Smoky started acting very sluggish around the house, so I took her to the vet and found she had an aggressive infection. Sadly, she did not survive the necessary surgery and passed just a month or two prior to her 7th birthday (she was a rescue at about 4-5 months old, so her exact age was always a question mark).

She was the sweetest cat and super-lovey, especially for a female. She would always demand attention upon my arrival home and I would always have to put everything down to pet her, otherwise the meows would never stop.

She liked simple things, and eventually I learned to stop buying the hundred-dollar kitty trees and special cat condos, because she'd barely pay them any mind.

I think she might have been an orphan; for her whole life, she would dry-nurse on anyone who would let her. She was so happy doing it (it was the only time she purred!) that I gave up and just let her.

She was really the perfect cat, but for one thing: She hated being picked up, even by me.

A little knife-related content:

Rest in peace, Smoky girl. I will always carry you with me in my heart.

Congratulations Barrett  Fantastic stuff Duncan, great thread

Fantastic GAW Duncan, it was so neat to see how pets touch our lives so deeply:thumbup:

This was a cool give-away. Both the knife and the reason behind the give-away.

And now that a winner was selected, I feel safe to post. One of my favorites of all of GOD's creatures --- my son's dog. An American Dingo, Tzofi-Gene. Still a pup. Now 8-9 months old.
