The small world of knife enthusiasts, a place where having 50+ knives simply to play with is not considered strange at all! How many of you weirdos have a knife that you actually carry EVERY DAY? (my most carried knives are about 1/10 days)

I will carry a knife for a month or more and then get another old favorite from my safe and carry that a month or more.

Until I get a Cruwear Military, my Cruwear Manix isn't leaving my pocket.
The only exception is to my large 21 seb that was made on my daughters birthday. That was my EDC until I acquired the manix. It has since become an "Occasion" knife (holidays, special dinners, things like that).

I've been carrying these two knives for almost a decade.

The fixed-blade is a Wilson Tactical model 25, and the folder is a Bradley Alias 1. I recently purchased a new fixed-blade, and once I get around to making a sheath for it, I think I'll carry the new knife. Not that I have any complaints with the Wilson, I'm just in the mood for a change.

As for my choice of daily carry folder, I was just looking at my Alias yesterday and thinking about how despite all the very capable folders I own, I have stuck with the Alias, and plan to continue doing so. Although my Alias is not my favorite knife, or my most valuable knife, time has proven that it's the perfect knife for my folder needs. I use it several times a day.

Me. I have carried the same ZT0452CF every single day for 9 months straight. It is always in my pocket.

Although, I do rotate fixed blades all the time depending on what I'm doing.

Killgar I'm curious what you used to sharpen that fixed blade? Is that a wicked edge super thin?

The blade is made from 7/32" stock (1/32" short of 1/4") very hard D2 steel, and the edge has a slightly hollow grind. The cutting edge was originally very thick, too thick for my liking. So I re-ground the cutting edge as thin as I could with a flat hone and without re-grinding the knife and altering it's original lines.

I used an extra-coarse DMT hone for the re-grind (freehand). It took me a lot of hours over two days. The edge is now 3/16" wide (give or take), and 3/32" thick at it's thickest/highest point.

I would describe it as a thin edge on a thick blade. I re-sharpen using a fine diamond hone, and it's hair-popping sharp.

Neither my camera, nor my photography skills are sufficient for taking a good, close-up picture of the edge grind, otherwise I would post a pic.

Here's another pic-

My Spyderco Dice has been in my pocket almost every day since I bought it early last year. My Brous Silent Soldier has been around my neck every single day since I bought it over two years ago. (Actually, I own 2 of them)

I've carried a pocketknife for almost 50 years. I don't buy "50+ knives simply to play with" like you imply; and I suspect most others don't either. The fact that I have a small drawer full of knives is not due to anything more than the fact that I am still looking for my ideal EDC knife. My current knives are the best I've found so far, but that doesn't mean they may not be superseded in the future by something I like better.

(I've even had a custom EDC knife made for me by a well known bladesmith which, alas, didn't quite do what I wanted. Not through any fault of the knifemaker, but from my own inadequate thoughts on the design I sent him.)

I own maybe 20 knives total. I'm in pursuit of perfection. Something gets purchased and the knife it replaced gets sold.

I tend to carry the same knife/combination of knives for a good long while before switching anything out. I do have a Vic Huntsman that lives in my bag and that goes with me whenever I leave the house, so no matter what else I've got with me, the Huntsman is there too.

I tend to carry the same knife all week and I rotate maybe 10 knives, though I have over 80. I used to carry traditionals. I don't very often anymore, but that's not a reason to sell them. When I switched to moderns with pocket clips, it took some time to find just the right style and quality level that made me smile every time I pulled it out. There's still a few grails on my radar (like the previous poster's ZT 452CF), but I think my EDC situation is finally under control.

Right front pocket all day every day since I bought it 9 months ago.

I might slip another folder in my waistband or back pocket if the mood strikes me.

I live on a boat for a month at a time... I take one knife with me. Been on a big traditional kick as of late but since it will positively be "short pants" weather in beautiful western ky I will probably be carrying a modern with a clip iwb at 1o'clock. I get off this thing Wed hot Damn

Left front pocket everyday since I bought it 2 1/4 years ago, never left that place nor do I find a reason for it to do so.

I love it, and it's the one that started the "Salt" addiction I have!

Admittedly, this and the Vic Classic are my only true EDC blades.

All others get carried, switched and rotated.

I recommend it to everyone!

I wish I could say that, but I just can't bring myself to getting rid of something that I like regardless of whether or not it is used.

My EDC folder for 20+ years was and is a large tinker styled (two layer) Vic SAK. But for the last 6 months, I have been carrying another folder (smaller for the most part) and seeing if I am comfortable with that approach. [I keep that SAK in my vehicle, so I can switch back to it if the need presents itself and that usually means a work situation.]

I am always looking for "perfection"; I don't think it exists as long as you keep looking at other knives. Just picked up a Lionsteel folder that I am going to give a try.

Carried a Vic Tinker Deluxe for years, then I picked up a Vic Explorer Plus and after carrying for a few months passed the Tinker on to my brother. Always have a SAK in my pocket, and never have been in a hurry to open a blade.

I have to admit that carrying a SAK is very boring and maybe a bit too predictable if you like knives. I like SAKs.
