Well everyone,

Last night at 8:14PM I became an Eagle Scout. It was a long journey and would not have happend if not for my parents and the 250+ hours of service by my fellow scouts and their parents.

Please chime in if you are an Eagle Scout with what year you received the honor....:)

Congratulations.

I know you worked hard for your accomplishment and hope all the experience carries with you through out your life.

Congratulations.

My son was a Eagle Scout and I know what it took to make it. He got his one month before his 18th birthday.

Congratulations! I received mine in 1975. My nephews are earning theirs, now. It will be an asset to you. Good job!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! :)

If anything....I have learned patience is needed if you want to operate in the real world. At many points I ready to tear out my hair having to deal with extensive bureaucratic procedures. I also learned this in dealing with custom knifemakers but the message to me is the same: setting goals always has to be paired with the understanding that the best results take time and effort on the part of everyone involved.

I will gladly take that lesson into the world of architecture that I plan on tackling in college.

Congrats man. I started out in Scouts, but never really got into it. I also got really into music once in highschool and between after school practices for pep band/marching band/jazz band and pit orchestra, along with my church youth group I had a little too much on my plate. Sometimes I wish I had stuck it out, and had it been a better group of guys in the troop I probably would have found the time to make it happen. I'm definitely going to encourage my kids (if I have any) to go into scouts.

Congratulations and Great Job:thumbup:
My cousin earned Eagle last year. You guys work very hard.

Mark and Holly:)

Congratulations and welcome. I received mine in 1971. One of my sons has his and the other is trying to finish his project now. You have worked very hard for this and it will benefit you through out your lifetime.
Kevin

Welcome to the club. :) Class of 1997, and it's something that never dies. I've two degrees on the wall, a Mason's ring on my finger, and the Eagle is the equal to them all.

Congratulations, man! I quit Scouting after I completed Cub Scouts, and it's something that I regret. It's too late for me to get into Scouting, but I'm happy for you.:)

Thank you all so much! I've been busy today cleaning up from the New England ice storm....

but my son got his this summer. We had his court of honor a month or so ago. I was one proud poppa. So from me, Congratulations!

Congrats!

I got mine 8 years ago, about a month before my 18th birthday.

Employers today are still impressed with it and it's a real easy way to show that you didn't waste your teens, but used it working towards something important.

Frequently, a friend or family member will ask, "Where did you learn how to _______"? After starting a fire in the wet snow, or some other odd skill like that. It's weird how much you pick up.

Congrats again!

You have a real reason to be proud!

On top of this great news, earlier in the week I got accepted to my 1st choice for college. It has been a crazy week!:D

I really appreciate the kind words and just how many clearly great individuals are here. I am truly honored and humbled to be in the presence of so many fine men!:)
