Earl Sees the World!

Jack - Thanks for the tour. Earl better be careful, that main blade might be developing some belly being around all that great food and beverage, the girls may not care for that! Good thing you're going for hikes. I think old Earl might be getting plumb tuckered out though!

What a really good thread this is! Glad to see Earl on his travels, he has been to some really lovely places, and some great people!

Thanks for doing this, it has made our day!!!

Cheers

Paul

P.s does he fancy a trip to Hampshire? We would be only to glad to show him around!!

Jack, thanks for the wonderful walking tour! Great shots of Earl who seems to hold up well through his adventures. :)

We discussed viaducts on the Thursday Hike with my friends. Nice to have some photos (which I'll be sharing if it's OK with you).

It's fun watching Earl do the "Grand Tour". Really great addition to the ongoing saga, Jack.

Thanks a lot folks

Certainly, and if you'd like any without Earl just PM me - just don't tell Earl! ;)

Late to the thread, what a tour!! So nice to get a glimpse of people's worlds through Earl's travel's:)

Nice to see you giving him the royal treatment on our shores Jack:D

Sam

Thanks for taking us along on your hike with EARL, Jack!:thumbup: Looks like it was great weather for trekking through splendid countryside with lots of fascinating sights!:D

I never see scarecrows over here anymore ! :o:D

Nice work Jack - 29 pages of Earl's travels so far ! Who would of thunk it !:)

A glorious trek, Jack. You are showing Earl the parts of your area that surely tickle his genes! He is a few generations later, but I am sure the blood runs strong!

Thanks a lot guys, appreciate the kind words

Thanks GT, it started off rather gloomy, but then brightened up :) Perhaps not the most spectacular Yorkshire countryside, but it was an interesting hike, and certainly tested my map-reading skills! ;)

I never see scarecrows over here anymore ! :o:D

They're rare here now too, though I believe there are a couple of local Scarecrow Festivals! There were about ten of them in the small field, including a 'baby scarecrow'! :D

Thanks Charlie :) Yes, Earl got very excited when we visited Sheffield! :D

Great photos and narrative of Earls walk with you Jack! :)

Thanks a lot Duane :)

I had planned to take Earl on a small tour today, beginning at the tiny West Yorkshire village of Bramhope (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bramhope). Shortly after having a look at the 17th century Puritan Chapel (built in 1649) though, it began to rain heavily, which really wasn't a lot of fun - Oliver Cromwell (in whose time the chapel was built) might have approved, but Earl certainly didn't! There isn't a great deal else to see in Bramhope either, a fish and chip shop, which was closed, a nice-looking pub (also closed), a baker's shop, church, newsagent, a hairdresser's, a barbers shop, and a small antique shop recently opened by a friend of mine, who I had offered to take for lunch. Unfortunately, he had to stay in the shop, so Earl and I had to settle for coffee, before venturing back out into the rain to go to Otley. The weather got even worse, so we had lunch in the Rumblin' Tum cafe, and then returned home. Not the most exciting day for Earl I'm afraid, but he did get to see some nice antiques

I agree with Gevonovich, it was all worth it. I loved your field trips before you teamed up with Earl. Having Earl along is icing on the cake.

Just Fantastic Jack.
One day you should write a book my friend as its ALWAYS great reading what you share with us.

Thanks Duncan, hope you're doing well my friend  Going to try and put a package in the post to you tomorrow ;)
