It's been a long day for me and Earl folks, but I thought I should let you all know that Earl is not behind bars tonight, though it's been a close call. I managed to get him out of town, and over to the city of York, which I know pretty well, and which I thought might be a good place for Earl to lie low for a while. Earl seemed to breathe a little easier once we got there, but said he didn't like having to keep his watch-cap pulled down over his bolster.
We had a look around the town so Earl could get his bearings, in case he suddenly had to make a break for it. He tried to familiarise himself with the street names
But it seemed that even in York, he was being hunted!
Earl ran down an alley and hid round a corner until the detectives had gone.
Then peering out at a young lady, Earl managed to lose his hat! Oh no, he'd soon be recognised! I found a place in the city walls for Earl to hole up, while I went in search of a better disguise.
When I came back with a new disguise, Earl didn't look happy, but, as I told him, it was either this, Batman, or Bo Peep!
I'll have tell you about the rest of our adventures tomorrow folks, as it's time to hit the hay, and I think Earl could do with a rest, just didn't want you worrying about us
