Earl Sees the World!

Pffffft! Look at what the camera does to me! That fish looks better than me. I think the stuffed hare would make me look better like your friend there Jack. :D:D:D

Now onto the man with the hare....from the look of the size of his arms, I'm going to say he's a betting man.

Looks more like a man who lost a bet, Jack's further explanation notwithstanding. ;)

But, considering his past, I wonder how he feels about his next host's occupation? Does EARL even know where he's headed next, Jack?

I think I might have neglected to mention it to him GT ;)

Are we to understand that you did not inform EARL of his next destination, and the implicit perils therein?

You're a cruel man, Mr. Black.

(Hey, I've been hit by the lower-case gremlin for the first time in quite a while.)

Look what I came across the other day! :D

(Sorry if you were expecting to see Earl, hopefully he'll be back soon )

In terms of updating the map of Earl's travels, Earl has been on the Isle of Harris for the past month. Hopefully he'll be travelling again soon

Jack I would've gone right up to the big BRUTE carrying the Robin Hood Hare, poked him in the chest and said Duncan and Jack have something they'd like to say about you carrying that ridiculous Robin Hood Hare, then quickly pointing to you and Duncan as I made my quick exit:D:p

LOL - thats when I try crying....throw Sue in front of me and run...... trip over Jack, and worry later about looking in the Mirror.

WOW!!!
Bob....man THAT is a fish - was it a keeper or a release? ( What sort of fish is that my friend?)

Duncan, it's a Striper, AKA Striped (Sea) Bass. They come along the Eastern Seaboard chasing baitfish in late summer and fall. Anything under 28" must be released. Bob's is a monster and looks well over that length. The largest I've caught is 34", but I'm not a consistent fisherman.

I use a cheap Rapala fillet knife on them, but have considered moving up to a Dozier in D2.

Duncan, as Robb said, Striped Bass. That was a couple years ago so I don't remember the exact size. I would say that fish was roughly 38" and 25lbs. My biggest is 58" and 53lbs. Obviously health has prevented me from fishing this year, but there was a time I would fish like a madman and spent a lot of time on the water. That one was shore fishing along the Cape Cod Canal. The Stripers migrate through there heavily a couple times per year.
I've used Dexter-Russell fishing knives for many years. As a one time commercial fisherman, the Dexter knives were and still are a mainstay on the decks of most boats.
I would like to take Earl fishing one day. :D:thumbup:

Wow!!! Thank you Robb and Bob...great stuff, I would love to catch that sized fish! be great to catch and release - (but if I was really hungry I'd be taking bites from it before the hook could be taken out lol)

Welcome Earl to Andover Hampshire!!
Poor Earl has been away for the last month or so, keeping a low profile, after his brush with the law in Leeds!
Amnesty International intervened and said Andover would be a wise choice for his rehabilitation program.
The town came out in style to meet him!!

It was an emotional day for him, so an early night was in store.
He will be out and about tomorrow.

Fantastic to see Earl back after all his time away, and it's great to see that the fab folk of Andover rolled out the red carpet for him! Great stuff Paul, I'm really looking forward to seeing my old pal, and to reading about his visit with you
