Earl Sees the World!

Earls gonna need one of those travel suitcases ..the ones with the stickers all over it, from around the world...to carry all his haute coture:D;)

Many thanks for the adventure you showed Earl, for the write ups, and for providing details on the background, history and quirks of Andover. You're a great ambassador for your city.

Hi All, and thanks for the really kind comments, much appreciated!!
Its our last day with Earl today:( so we thought it would be nice to go out on a high note!
In the Town market place today was a car show in aid of a local charity, and lots of old and custom cars lined the street.
They looked really lovely in the sunshine, but as there were lots of people it was hard to get a good photo without Joe public being in the way!
Also if you whip a knife out here in the street, you get some very funny looks from un educated knife minded people!

Anyway, Earl soon found a car to match his age, a lovely little Austin, which won best car in the show!

As luck would have it, a late entry pulled up, and a really kind man agreed to have his picture taken with Earl.
We could not believe it when the man put his hat on, it was just like Earls!

The car behind is his 1951 Chevrolet pick up truck, what a beauty! Immaculate condition and sounded gorgeous!!

We could not let Earl go without showing him a street named after him and all his Brothers. Alfie and Elsa will miss him too.

Its been real fun having him to stay, and we wish him well on the next leg of his journey!

All the best
Earl. Paul and Jan.

Wonderful adventure, Paul!
I enjoyed it immensely!
Thanks to you and Jan!!

Great post, Paul! The dogs are cute and I also got a kick out of that Scarface lorry in the background!

Great stuff Paul and Jan, Earl looks swell in his new duds. I wonder how he's going to find the big city...

Paul and Jan, it has been a great visit to Andover, thanks for the great time. I guess with the hat and bandanna Earl will need a suit case now.

Nice photos of the car show! I especially enjoyed the one with the man dressed similar to EARL (Paul & Jan, you are to be commended for your treatment of EARL - he was naked, and you clothed him!) by the 1951 Chevy pickup, which is the same model year I am, although I can't remember the last time someone said of me, "Immaculate condition and sounded gorgeous!!":D

Late to the party as usual, but I made up for it last night and read the whole thread. Great writing, great pics, and such adventures---I want to be Earl when I grow up!

Andrew

Earl got a smart new box to go travelling again.
He is off to London to stay with a new friend. Its been really great having him around, we will miss him!
Thank you to every one who has taken the time to comment on this leg of his journey.
Bye Bye Earl old son.

All the best
Paul and Jan

I love Earl's travelling box! :D Great work Paul and Jan :) Looking forward to seeing Earl in The Smoke, is it too late for him to run for Mayor?! :D

Nothing but first class for Earl!!
Paul and Jan, thanks for a great visit!

I think this might be the best thread on BladeForums. Just read through the whole thing. Can't wait to see what adventures are in store for Earl next!

Man, this thread just keeps yielding gold!

If earl ever makes his way back to Washington state, he ought to stop by!

Course, my po-dunk town does not have a lot of historical sights to see.

The kerchief and hat killed me!
