Early birthday present

I'm sorry about the losses of your grandparents, but none of us live forever, and life goes on. WE have to become the grandparents in our turn, and pass on what they brought to us. Your wife's grandfather sounds like the best example of this.

Well said Esav. Well said.

Nice gun and condolences on the loss of your grandma. I lost my grandfather about 6 months ago, almost a year to the day we lost my grandmother:( Use that shotgun and enjoy it. I still think of my gramps everytime I shoot my trusty 30.06:thumbup:

j will - Very sorry for the loss of your Grandmother. Smoke and prayers inbound. Happy Birthday, though. And what an awesome gift from what sounds like a great man. Happy hunting. -DT

God bless our grand parents and sorry for the loss of your Grandma. My Mom and I lived with her folks for three years while my dad was off in WW-2. I was three before I saw my dad for the first time. Grandpa gave me my first 22 rifle and my first shotgun and taught all of the grandsons to hunt. My dad was a workaholic and seldom took time off for anything. I am sure you will always cherish that shotgun and maybe someday you will pass it down to another lucky young fellow.

Sorry for your loss. I lost my grandmother many years ago but I will always have her memory and the things that she taught to me.
You have obviously married into a great family.
Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Sorry for your loss, bro. And the shotgun looks great. Makes some of us wish we had that influence in our lives...

I'm really sorry to hear about the losses Jake, that's hard every time. I think you and your family keep really positive outlooks on life.
It's really great to have something like that mossberg, that really makes memorys comes back to life through your finger tips.

Thanks guys...

I will cherish the shotty, its a wonderfull memory, and on top of that a helluva good bird gun. Ive taken Quail, Turkey, and ducks with it, all the time with the old timer spent well!!!

Sorry for the loss of your grandmother. Lost the only blood grandparent I ever knew a couple years back, she was just over a year shy of 100 and an amazing lady-walked to one a room schoolhouse, drove her father's team of horses 15 miles by herself to market and back, etc.

Her second husband was the closest thing I had to a grandfather and was very good at it, had all the old tools in the basement and could fix anything. He gave me a Marbles sheath knife when I was a kid, still have it safely tucked away in a safe. My mother recently gave me a small folding knife that was owned by that same grandmother's first husband that he EDC'd, although I doubt he used that term in the early 1900s! No clue as to what kind it is but it doesn't really matter.

Thanks for sharing your gift, you gave me one with both your memories and mine.

Your right. It doesnt matter. The shotgun is really nice, and a great gift, but I enjoyed his company today as much as the gift. Im glad it brought back some memories for you too!!

congrats on the gift Jake. grandpas are great. i turned out just about exactly like mine, in look and manner. sorry to here about your grandmother, ty not to dwell on it though, as she probably wouldnt want you to.

Congrats on the gift Jake and I'm sorry about your loss. Great thing is you have the memories, cherish them.
