I got a gift cert and some money for christmas, some of which I used to pick up a set of rings yesterday. In my limited use of them so far, they make pushups waayyy harder, of course depending on how low you hang the rings. The stability factor is much greater than what I was imagining it would be. Doing body rows isn't a whole lot different than doing them off a bar however, though you can choose how you hold your hands; palms in, forward, etc.

Koyote, mad props on the progress:thumbup:

Hey Christof, it's working ain't it :)

Well here we are at the end of December and last Saturday, after Thanksgiving, Christmas and all the chocolate and pies I've been making, I'm down to 198 lbs. its only 9 pounds since my last post but I'm feeling great about it. I actually had a bit of fear of the scales this last Saturday and almost skipped the weigh in but had to know. I was surprised that I had lost 2.5 lbs from the previous Saturday.

My thinking concerning food has surely shifted, it's near automatic portion control at this point. I have tasted everything, I haven't denied myself any thing I wanted to try I just controlled the portion.

It has been nearly 11 months since I started, albeit slowly. I am doing great, I feel it. It is pretty obvious that with your work out and goals you should be the winner of this threads prize for focus and consistency, for plan and progress but I've lost freaking 66 lbs and that is reward enough :)

Christoph, you're looking lean and mean sir, that's pretty inspirational.

Scales touched 200# even this morning for the first time since...high school?

Even better. My diabetic sugar numbers are completely normal, and the doc is talking about taking me off all Diabetes medications...

Next goal...a 5k by April, maybe a 10k by May. And an obstacle course challenge called the Warrior Dash in August.

Guys.

I dont wanna pat myself on the back, but if I motivated ANY of you to do these amazing things by starting these threads, and this contest, then I am very very honored. You guys are freakin hardcore.

Christof, damn bro. Damn.

Im 56lbs lost and counting. Soooo ready for the holidays to be over. Its been rough fightin off all that food, and explaining myself to people on why Im not eating....

If I hear one more person say "how much weight are you gonna lose?" Im gonna say "How much are you gonna gain??"

J, you totally got me in the groove on this. I was thinking I needed it, but this was a ton of nice, public, put the feet on the pavement motivation.

I've been considering asking one of the mods if we couldn't just keep a monthly thread going on indefinitely. It's definitely a skills thread ;)

No joke man...mad skillz.

I originally tagged this contest to end in Jan, but I wanna extend that to spring, to keep guys in it till the season gets in full swing. Maybe combat some winter cabin fever some folks get...
