Easy As 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 GAW!

1. I'll play for the Victorinox.
2. Total = 187
3. Victorinox = 45
4. Oddly enough I keep a Victorinox Super Tinker in the glove box of my car and the wife's too. She uses the scissors a lot ;)

...
I have to be honest, it's hard for me to believe that either of you have only been on here for 4 years! You're both long-time Porch fixtures in my mind! :D I'm about a year behind y'all, going on 3 years....

Since this is a 5K Qs 5K Qs GAW, I don't think I could go without mentioning something that I just noticed about Ron's join date (7/25/2014). When added up individually, the numbers for the month (7), day (2+5) and year (2+0+1+4) add up to 777.

Not an entry for me, although you know I love playing guess-the-number GAWs (I'm still a bit sore about @Will Power's license plate GAW ;)). I will, however, comment on Part 4 -- what traditional knife do I carry in my vehicle. Currently I have a full size Case sodbuster with dark blue synthetic handles and a stainless as-ground blade. It was a gift from a friend, and is a bit large (in my opinion) for pocket carry, so I thought it would make a good knife to keep in the console of my truck. ...
I would also recommend one of these for your vehicle, if you have somewhere to put it....

Good luck to all the entrants!
Thanks for the kind comments, Barrett! :)
That numerological observation about @Half/Stop's join date explains a lot!:D (Not really, but it seemed like an appropriate ambiguous/mysterious thing to write in connection with numerology.)
Will's license plate GAW was a lot of fun! I considered you my "main competition", although at the end, I was certain @black mamba was gonna post the winning guess just after I was quite sure I had the number but before I could post!
Thanks (to you and everyone else) for the "car carry" recommendations; lots of food for thought for me.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I'll have to look into the patch - didn't realize it was velcro. Maybe I should start designing a pocket knife "motorcycle gang" jacket! :D:rolleyes:

Not an entry.

Usually I like to participate even if I don't enter, but this time that might mess someone else up, so instead I will just share a picture of a Rough Rider of mine that I like in the spirit of knife related content :)

Nice knife! :cool::cool:

1. Victorinox (that wooden Spartan is so cool)
2. 234
3. 45
4. I always carry an Opinel #4 in my bike bag, just as a very portable backup knife. Opinels are always nice to have handy. That's the closest I've got, even though it's not technically left in my vehicle. It's got more patina on it since I took this photo but here it is:

Midday bump to the first page.

As long as I'm posting, here's a little background on the Rough Riders in the GAW. Each of the RR knives is a duplicate of a pattern I bought and thoroughly enjoyed. I liked them so much that I ordered "back-ups" of each, not so much as insurance in case I lost mine, but as examples I could give away to spread the word about Rough Riders.:D

Evening bump before I go to bed.
GAW ends in about 20 hours, so get your guesses in soon if you'd like to participate! :)

- GT

One last bump to Page 1 before the GAW ends at 5pm EDT today. Unless there's a final flurry of activity, it looks like 10 participants are competing for the Vic trio and 4 entries for the Rough Riders.

I am one of the 10, and thought several times about changing my guess as to total traditionals because I guessed a pretty high number, but knew a man once who had a thousand knives. Sticking to my first guess!

A little late getting this info out, but I had more Friday night chores than I'd expected when I got home from work.
I am AMAZED by how close the winning guesses, and some of the other guesses, were to the actual total. I suppose almost all of my knives have been displayed in the "Totin' Today" thread, but I'd hate to think folks had nothing better to do than search through that ENORMOUS thread making a list of all my knives!:eek::p:p

I counted up my knives in a couple of independent ways last weekend, and came up with 247 knives.

The winner of the Rough Riders is JohnDF JohnDF in Post #11 with a guess of 250. John actually edited his post this morning but I don't remember if he changed his total at that time. (Some of my "stats" are at my office, and I'm home now.) Congrats, John!!:thumbsup::D

The winner of the Victorinox knives is Benson X Benson X in post #25 with a guess of 237. Exquisite estimate, Benson X! :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'd appreciate it if the winners would send me a mailing address, either by posting on my profile page or "opening a conversation" with me. If you can do that this weekend, I'll get the knives out Monday.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thank you! It was fun. Congratulations to the winners!

WOOT!!!

Thank you again, GT! Have a great weekend!

That's CRAZY! Yes, I edited my number this morning from 200 to 250. I had a feeling I was low. I'd still like to know how many SAKs you have :D. I am very excited to win these awesome little knives, they will be perfect for when I return to work after Summer Vacation. Thank you for doing this fun contest and thank you (and others) for making this such a fun place to visit during the day.

Congrats to JohnDF JohnDF and Benson X Benson X , and a huge THANK YOU to GT! I didn't enter as I have more knives than I need as it is, and I've been a fortunate recipient of your generosity in the past. I was figuring you had reached the 250 mark based off of posts in the past.

You are a treasure in our little corner of the world, GT. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that I absolutely love and constantly check for your epic posts in the "Totin'" thread. Thank you for all that you provide to this forum.

Cool GAW, GT! Sorry I missed it!
I know fixed blades aren’t really your thing, but might I suggest one for the car? Perhaps a nice Bird & Trout? Small enough to not feel so out of place among your folders, perfect for the roadside picnic.

Thanks for the kind words, Shawn. :)

You're welcome, John; I hope you enjoy the RR models I'm sending as much as I've enjoyed the originals that inspired me to buy and give away duplicates! ;) FWIW, I currently have 13 Alox SAKs and 12 celidor SAKs (including my Minichamp I carry all the time and often forget to count).

Thanks also to everyone for their "vehicle knife" suggestions.:thumbsup: I was surprised at the variety suggested, especially in terms of size! Before this thread, I assumed that a knife I kept in the car would probably be something that I considered too big to carry in my pocket, like a full-size trapper, my Cold Steel Kudu, an old Buck 110, or maybe a fixed blade knife of some kind if I ever decided to get one. But now I'll have to think carefully about the pros and cons of the variety of knives y'all suggested. Thanks!

I agree with you. I keep a GEC #71 Bullnose in my truck, that's my daily driver.
But I keep this big 'ol Western in my Jeep for outdoor adventures...

Thank you 5K Qs 5K Qs
The knives just arrived. I'm like a kid in a candy store trying to figure out which one I'm going to carry first. The pen knife is so small and slim, I know it's going to get a ton of watch pocket time when I return to work after Summer vacation. The whittler is so much fun to play with all the blades and the main has a nice strong-ish pull. And the canoe, well it's my first canoe so I'm very excited to try it out. Thanks again for the great knives. I shall think of you fondly as I tote them.
-John
