Easy Open Fridays

Beautiful stuff guys! Joe, that bone 85 is sweet! Clutch, nice example of what must be a fairly rare knife. I don't recall the brand.

They called it Garnet Jigged Bone on the tube label....guess a garnet must be red?

My 23L (gifted by sitflyer) has that same scale material! Beautiful stuff!

Imperial easy-open jack with jigged, green, bone covers from the 1932 - 1956 era

Awhile back I had contacted David Tabor (Dr. T) about making an easy open. He said to let him look into it and he'd get back to me.
Then the other day he contacted me and advised me that since he hadn't made an easy open before, Tony Bose sent him an old model he could take apart for use as a pattern.
This is what he ended up making. ATS34 blade steel, and the bone scales Dr. T said the he jigged to resemble Remington.
So anyway, I have it now. This is the first easy open made by him. Dr T said that he enjoyed making it and was going to add it to his regular lineup. He was a true gentleman to work with and he took into consideration my trouble with real hard pull knives, so this one has a very nice action. And it is sharper than heck.

Very nice, Joe! I bet you'll love carrying that one.

Still don't have that GEC 15 Ebony Easy Open or otherwise I've been hankering for so this modded Opinel 6 will have to do for now. Actually my only Easy Opener to date, but I love the feature.

Wow! Drooling at all the really nice EOs in this thread. It just so happens that I'm toting an EO today too.

Yatsunil - I have been eye-ballin' that color in the Scout. The Scout is a fine, fine knife.:)

Yeah I really like the EO Scout. Am on the lookout for a single blade but they're as rare as hen's teeth
Thanks for pulling this thread up - I'm on an EO kick at the moment so anything with EO draws me in!
