Eat' N Tool

Well, I'm pretty much sold on it. Especially with the demonstration of how that 8mm hex hole works out. Not gonna go looking for it, but if I ever run across one in a store, it's MINE :D .

I'm a big fan of the smoked oysters, too. Both my wife and I. But can't do the stone-ground crackers (as much as I like them) because my wife has "celiac sprue" disease (sp?).

That is a bummer dude, sorry to hear that.

Man that is a bummer. I had never heard of this until I spent some time as a prep cook in a local high-end restaurant. Before then I never knew people could have such bad reactions to wheat.

Not to take this off topic but what knife is this?

Thanks guys. It took some time for her to get used to it, but now it isn't so bad. We just have to be sure and watch what she eats. But yeah, it can be quite bad if she gets hold of anything that has wheat, rye, or barley in it (e.g. beer, pasta, bread, you know, most of the stuff the people eat every day).

It is also getting better as more is learned about it. And believe me, I USED to be one of the ones that kinda snickered under my breath when I saw "Gluten Free" on packages of food. Little did I know.

I guess "karma" can be a wicked b****, eh?

Gluten sensitivity is a bitch and much more common than people realize.

Interesting looking tool, do you think it's too big for key chain duty?

Damn you Mist, I need more kit like a hole in the head, and now I want of all things a spork wrench...

you suck, great job on the review by the way.

Sorry man...jeeeez the MSRP is only like $7.00

Thanks bro, glad you liked the review :)

Nice review! I'm impressed with the capabilities of the tool, though I wish it were a bit bigger.

In all honesty I've moved to chopsticks and a spoon for 99% of my eating requirements. I feel like designing a modified spoon that is more like a scoop shovel then a bowl.

Great review!

Haha, man the spork tool adapter idea was very cool. I actually use a driver adapter for my multitools so i can use it as an improvised drill as well, but you sold me on the spork drill lol.

I agree on the commenter that said a built in sak style can opener would make it so much more useful...then I wouldn't need my p38 hehe.

Thanks!

Personally I'm a big fan of the Snow Peak Titanium Mini Spork -- symmetric form, deeper bowl, beautiful feel.

I do appreciate those additional functions of the Eat' N Tool, but already EDC a Lee Valley (Burtek) Pocket Wrench II and SwissTool RS. More weight, but each does its job well.

You've never eaten smoked oysters with stone ground wheat crackers? You are missing out noodle.

Man,
Ive never had it either so when I was at the store last week,
picked up some smoked oysters and wheat crackers.
Since then I must have eaten half a dozen cans
Man thats good stuff while sitting in the house,
I cant imagine how good thats gonna be
out on the trails!
Thanks!

(Oh,great review btw! :) )

#2 on the smoked oysters. Now, where are the crackers ??? :)

Crackers? Well, maybe.

No salt and hot sauce? Oh, the horror.

Great review. The tool looks useful and compact, but it's short for my preferences. I eat a lot of Mountain House dinners, and I don't care for putting my grubby hands down into my food. Heck, I can barely get that lasagna cheese off my utensil; I can't imagine having to scrub it off my fingers. :p

I like a good spork, but I like a long handle. Even the stubby sporks aren't my cup of tea. My favorites so far (in order) are the Sea to Summit Alpha Light, the Snow Peak Titanium, and the Light My Fire Titanium.

Cooking in a canteen cup... nice!

Never tried smoked oysters either. I'll remedy that soon.

I know this is off topic, but since the subject of canned seafood came up, people that are into sardines might want to try those offered by Wild Planet Foods. They're Pacific sardines caught off of California, and they're very good.

I get them in a supermarket called Stop & Shop, but they're located in the "organic" food section, not in the "canned meats" section.

Thanks guys, glad you liked the post.

Glad you got turned on to a new trail food you like as well
