Eat' N Tool

I prefer a longer handled spoon, so at first I was doubtful about the stubby handle on that gadget. Then, I realized how I could stow one easily inside my cup or small pot as a back-up, along with a p-38, matches, and an MRE condiment pack.

It would have been nice last summer when I was motorcycle camping in New Hampshire and realized that I had forgotten my spoon and fork somehow. :o After I had already gotten dinner started. :o:o

P.S., the broad part of a Nessmuk makes for a somewhat functional eating utensil.

Great post and little tool. I'm going to have to get myself one or ten of those.

It is a little short like others have said, but do you think you could carve a wooden handle and just stick it into the large hole and then tie it off to the smaller hole above it with some thread or 550 guts? Maybe cut a stick with a small fork in it and stick that in the large hole????

I think that would work but what the hell do I know.

I didn't realize I needed something like this until I saw this post. I get to watch more money disappear from my pocketbook haha.

Thanks guys, glad you liked the post. I'm not sure on the handle, I'll have to try it and see.

It really doesn't cost much at all...

Back in the day, most airlift pilots carried a spoon in their sleeve pocket. It was a sign that you were on the road a lot and never knew when or where you'd be able to eat. Also helped if the flight kitchen forgot the plastic utensils in your flight meal. I can see this clipped to a helmet bag in the near future.

My one concern is that it's pretty short. It might make it to the bottom of a pudding cup, but a can of corn beef hash or an MRE pack might be trouble.

I currently carry a Light My Fire Titanium Spork in my kit. Good length and hey it's ti, so it's cool and tactical right?

The full sized can of corn beef hash may be an issue....as for the MRE I just cut them sideways, as opposed to across the top, and it works fine as pictured in the thread
