Eat Your Steak Viking! Winner Announced!

If you Google for Kongetinn Pewter Flatware you'll find the entire set, from dinner settings to cheese knives and cake servers. (alternate spellings: Konge-tinn, Konge Tinn)

Here's the corkscrew I mentioned earlier. A little red wine to wash down the steak seems like a good idea.

Here is a typically cruel and evil Viking bud vase (pron. "vahz"), with associated Viking napkin rings.
From the Tea Cozy Hoard, unearthed in East Aeggcopwick in 1973.

I'm a little surprised nobody has used this one yet ;)

A man should never set upon the road a step without his weapons of war, for unsure is the knowing when the need shall arise for a spear, on the way without.

I like to tease my wife, who is of Italian heritage, with the notion that my Viking ancestors lovingly gifted blonde hair and blue eyes to her erstwhile olive-complected forebears. ;)
She gets mad. :D

Remember this? and if you have little kids find the stories of Noggin The Nog by Oliver Postgate.

Uff da! You have some nice Viking cutlery useful for cutting lutefisk and lefse; even a Norwegian flag is shown in one of the photos.. My ancestors from Norge are proud. :D

Indeed they were my friend. Please read the first paragraph of my opening post in a Ray Winstone accent and take it with a large pinch of salt! :D  By one of life's many strange coincidence, as I was uploading the pics, the BBC radio had a feature about this very issue!

I don't use salt as a rule, but for you my friend it was already applied!! I'm sorry if my tongue in cheek attempt at a reply wasn't quite as successful as I hoped. Just have to rub it in that my ancestors were brains brawn and beauty, the total package! ;)

It's great seeing the whole set come together becaus of this thread, from across the world!

Jack, I’ll tell you a Viking joke.

In Iceland, Gunnar Hámundarson was the greatest fighting man of his age. Eventually his body count got too high. A gang of men, all with grudges to settle, gathered at Gunnar’s cabin.

“How do we know if Gunnar is home?”

“Send Pogrim, he’s a good scout.”

Gunnar was home. He heart Pogrim, and stuck his spear through a chink in the wall. Right into Pogrim.

Who staggered back to the wolf pack. “Well? Is Gunnar home?”

Pogrim said, “I don’t know if Gunnar is home. But his spear is,”

Then he dropped dead.
