Ebay customer Service Stinks

That's not the same with all CC's. My Visa has a one year limit on chargebacks.

That's pretty good, but I've never heard of any limits beyond 6-months (and that was years ago). Are you sure the one-year limit isn't a separate Consumer right called "claims and defenses" which also has additional limits such as: only applies to merchants within 100 miles of your residence, and only in your State?

Also, VISA (MC, AmEx, Discover, etc.) have nothing to do with this, they are separate from the issuing bank/financial institution which you have to deal with.

Like I said, I sell on eBay, but I also buy some as well. If I spend any kind of real money on something I expect a tracking number (my customers get their tracking info either the same day, or next business day after they pay, every time). I can't fathom waiting 30 days to report an unreceived item, even an overseas purchase.

Your not doing yourself, or the seller any favors by being too patient. Ultimately I just want what I paid for rather than a refund, and the seller wants the same outcome. The odds of finding a mis-delivered or lost package are much higher a week after it shipped than a month after, and that's better for both of us. You can also expose a scammer quicker by communicating than just waiting in the dark for your purchase.

If I contact a seller a week after I purchase something to see when it shipped, or to get tracking info, and I either get ignored or blown off like ASBOB did with the "it's late" comment? Screw him, I file a claim right then. Either he comes up with proof of shipment and delivery, or I get my money back. If the purchase ends up showing up I can always drop the claim, refuse delivery, or repay the seller.

I'm positive. Look here, you'll see that I'm doing a chargeback myself against a BF member myself, and had just gotten off the phone with my credit card company when I posted that.
