My Dad noticed this one Sunday night going rather cheap and snagged it for me. I really like it, very heavy duty and it must have represented a real bargain when it was available. Glad to add it to my collection.:D

:D ball lock, VG10, and wire clip, what is it missing?

Edit: oh yeah it doesn't have a wire clip I don't think, :o hehe that's what is missing.

I wanted so badly to like that knife, and it looked so good in pictures. But that is the only Spyderco I've ever held that I just hated immediately. I like the lock, I love the steel, but the handle just felt completely wrong in my hand. The pocket clip was also a turn off.

I still like the shape of the blade though.

Very nice. Pity they've been discontinued. Chunky looking grip, makes the blade look small, but the ergos are really very good. Makes you keep looking for stuff to cut.

Oh yeah....pass on our congratulations to your father....he has an eye for a good deal.

What the heck is it?!

That's a D'Allara drop point.

Congrats on that one Jill.

I had one & sold it.I loved the ergos, the lock, the blade, just about everything about it.The only thing I couldn't get used to was how bulky it felt in the pocket. That's the only reason I sold it.

FYI, I've also got a #082V Orange UKPK. I got it from newgraham. So yours might have originally come from them too.

All of my D'Allaras have wire clips. Tip up wire clips. On a knife with little closing bias, a light closed detent, a heavy blade and a butter smooth action. Nice knives, but I don't have the inclination to have a special pocket tailored for it. It works okay carried loose in a coat pocket, though.

$66.00, nib.

Wow! About time you go one of those.

My D'Allara was my very first Spyderco. Absolutely love the knife. The blade, the grind, the ergo's, everything just rocks. Honestly I don't miss a FFG on the D'Allara. I'll be keeping an eye out.

The rescue models with the full serrations and blunt tip are still about for around 55.

Really? I might have to pick one of those up. All I know is the Drop Point D'Allara is on par with the Military for my favorite Spyderco knife. :D

I love my D'allara - only complaint, if you can call it a complaint, was I wished it was s30v. I tend to take it out for heavy cutting tasks, like say breaking down a piece of stuffed furniture etc. I find that I dull the vg10 on it much faster than I dull the s30v on my manix. That being said its real easy to touch back up. You will enjoy it.
