EBAY THE UGLY

You should check the tracking numbers directly in the carrier's site. I notice ebay's tracking is always a bit behind. If you enter the tracking numbers directly in the carrier's site in this case, it would say "no record of item" or "shipping label created, awaiting item" or something to that effect. In the case of a shipper using ebay's provided system common sense is required. Of course a item isn't actually going out in the middle of the night, or on a Sunday, or holiday. It's there to ultimately ensure items are sent and accounted for. Not to rely on exclusively.

This stupid things cut both ways! Apparently eBay also sends email messages at times that items have been delivered (to the buyer):

A few weeks ago I receive a message from a very irate buyer that "I sent him an email" about 7:10 PM West Coast Time indicating that his item had been delivered. However since he had constant loop of his RING cameras both on door and also his mailbox (maybe he had many past issues!) he could clearly prove to the authorities, yes his first email brought up authorities!!!, that "my email" was meant to defraud him ($30 item!!!). I calmly explained to him that the email was originated by eBay and not by me, the tracking had shown the item having been delivered at around 10:30 AM his local time and if indeed not in his mailbox or mis-delivered to a neighbor or lord knows where, I would send him another identical item in 3 days in case the package does not show up! Low and behold, the package was delivered and the carrier redelivered to this customer 2 days later.

Unfortunately, eBay has made the Site so toxic that buyers and sellers tend to cry would at the first sight of a genuine / honest error. Maybe that's just the nature of eCommerce

This is unreal, we just returned from vacation and was greeted by two big fat Negatives! Which by the way we had posted on our store front that we would be away during this time frame on vacation so no one would be here to respond. The first problem we noticed two weeks prior to leaving is that our inventory counts were off and can not understand why? When we uploaded we put exactly how many we had available of each item and we are talking literally hundreds of items that we keep in stock. So then when the orders came in and we went to pull them we had more orders than we had product? We can not understand why or how this was happening. The second problem came when paid orders were not showing up as paid and when we crossed checked it was showing paid in Pay Pal days later after the payment was made! The third and most serious issue is that customers are telling us they are receiving shipping notifications two to three days earlier than when we are sending the notifications ourselves or they are receiving shipping notifications even after we have supplied them with a refund for out of stock products due to incorrect inventory counts! We are beginning to believe that maybe that someone else is using our system or going in and messing with our system, because we can not figure out another answer to this mess! We would be deeply grateful for any advice or assistance anyone could give us on this whole mess! Thank you.

Hello! I just wanted to share my experience. I just bought an item from Ebay from a Chinese seller (in China). There was nothing wrong with the item and I saw that the seller shipped the item on the same day as I made the payment.[??] The estimated delivery date said Oct 5. This was a very important reason for why I chose to buy the product. The product didn't come 1, 2 or 3 days late. It came 6 days LATER than what was expected. I think this is unacceptable.

Also, when I wanted to report this problem, I found it very difficult to report it. Most of the ways to report problems only were about reporting problems with the seller. But my problem was NOT with the seller, my problem was with Ebay/Postal shipping services.

I also could not find any way to message Ebay directly.
Thanks, Emma

Why does Ebay notify me that my Purchased item has shipped when all that usually happened is that a" shipping label has been created and USPS is awaiting the item". I do not need to be notified that a shipping label has been created. I have waited over 2 weeks wice in the past 5 months for an item to be shipped after Ebay has notified me my item has been shipped. A shipping label being created is not proof of shipment.

Why? Because the people who compose those messages sent from eBay have no common sense and no sense of what buyers want to know. And because they have ignored years of pleas from sellers, who would very much prefer that the message says something honest like, "Your label has been printed."

Let's quit blaming eBay guys. EBay is extremely easy to use if you aren't completely irresponsible.

As to the "issue", people who ship a lot tend to print them off at home to save time. A pre shipment between 1 am and 2am is entirely possible. Plus a lot of post offices have a 24/7 kiosk so that's an additional option.

Now you're apparently just copying and pasting messages on the eBay Community Message Boards! WRT the first one, unless someone hacks into a seller's account then no-one can generate a shipping label. This would simply be fraudulent and I very much doubt eBay being that stupid to engage in such practices! Again not advocating for you guys to do business on eBay but these tales are often unsubstantiated, conflated and / or from very confused buyers / sellers.

I have gathered that you appear to not want to take some sound advice already given to you but if your package does not show through the USPS system past midnight of 4/10, you ought to try your best to contact the seller directly, if you have not done so already.

I used to be very prompt with generating shipping labels, even if orders came in in ungodly hours, since later in the eves / nights I just happen to be in front of my computer reading some threads on this site, but no more!!! From a couple of months ago if orders came in after 4 PM my local time, I just rather generate labels during the so-called business hours on the following day, simply because we used to get email messages from some buyers to this nature:

"What games are you playing over there? I received my shipping notification a few hours ago but the USPS system does not show anything! Did you forget to ship out my item? Do you even have this item? Are you tricking me?!!!"

Fun times!

I use "EPREY" for very specific items that can only be found there for 1/100th the price of local or internet shops, usually automotive/motorcycle related. For example, the push rivets for most Japanese cars are ridiculously expensive at the dealer or local auto shops or internet shops. Solution is EPREY 10 for the same price as one. They take a month to get her from who knows where but who cares. Same for motorcycle tire pressure sensors @$100+ each when battery dies. EPREY and a month later for 1/4 the price installed and programmed to bike.

I will admit and apologize as I only read the OP and 3-4 post after.

So I only use eBay to sell these days and I still hate it but for some items it is the only way to get a reasonable price paid to me. Pawn Shops, and Specialty used stores pay less than half the standard asking price for an item and my local market has not been the best for many of these items. So this is just my remarks for where and why eBay has a place and purpose because not all items have a convenient market available. So as a seller I had to do all the shipping and regardless of what eBay may send them I always maintained communications this of course is likely not the policy of any business operating on eBay. I will say though I have higher expectation for a business operating via eBay to turn around and ship fast wile I expect better communication for individuals. I have never had an issue with feedback going into the wrong category except maybe in the very early days before eBay ever required a CC. It does sound like your experience is with eBay that is operated outside the US so no telling what could be the case with any number of your issues. I will add that I do hesitate with eBay as I have had some dealings go south and the buyer was able to screw me over entirely. I do not buy from eBay because so many bad goods are sold on there either defective, counterfeit, or plain lies and not what was advertised.
