ECCKS In NJ This Weekend!!

At one point, I really thought I would be going this year. There was the possibility I might be taking delivery from two makers, one of which is Robert Kaufmann, an uber-talented master from Germany. Some of you guys may not know him. Great guy, with whom I spent significant time at Blade. He will again be at Eccks this year.

All sole authorship work, all incredible stuff.

Here is an example of his very-high-end work. I'd thought I had lost these images from Robert, but luckily just found them.

Bob, I had the pleasure to handle Robert's work at a few shows and although not 'main stream' work it is absolutely high end work and I like it.

Just got back from the show, took a bunch of pics will post in a little while......To those going tomorrow, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, park at the BJ'S or PEP BOY'S parking lot under any circumstance, you will be towed, ask me how i know. Again DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, park there, lets not give any of these slugs in the towing company any money. Anyhow other than that the show was pretty good and i am working on the pics right now.

As a former New Jerseyite I feel compelled to comment: Leave that nasty state! Move to a state that respects you and allows you to carry what you please. I am so glad my dad lost his job in Newark in 1982 and we moved here to Florida. You can leave the festering Garden State and life will be better. I'm sorry if this is off topic.

Reporting in....

So far it's been an oustanding show for everyone I've talked to. Lots of traffic and selling on the first day.

Big name makers are abundant. I'be been shooting a LOT of work--I'm physically exhausted. On my feet all day. Of course you will see the results soon. Two more days of Fun and Music. ;)

Labella hasn't popped in to give me his usual chuckle. Props to Yitz for stopping in. Jim Treacy, Ken (The Virginian), Jon Brand, Kevin Casey, Keith and Amy Ouye, CJ Cai, RJ Martin, and MANY others.

My dogs are barking. Susan has been such a great help. Going to rest now. :)

There is a public parking garage for a few buck right at the hotel.

Stelth, some of the finest people and events on the planet happen here in NJ. Sounds like you left early... ;)

Tristate UNITE!

Jim good to see you and Susan briefly. The show did seem to have decent traffic. I am all for the "Tristate Unite" comment, but I wish the show was still in NY. I hate hate hate Jersey city.

Jim Treacy, it was also good to see you! And of course it was great to reunite with all the table holders whos names I don't wanna try and remember because I will forget a bunch.

I spent a while drooling over Larry Fuegen's carved pearl folder. FANTASTIC work and right up my alley.

This is the first knife show ever that I brought money too and came back with all of it. I am not sure what that means... except that I've learned to be less impulsive. It will pay off when you see a knife thats getting made for me in a few weeks. :)

I agree entirely with this statement.

Thanks MADCASH, along with a 153.00 dollar towing fee here is what i brought back from the show. I saw some incredible stuff that was just AMAZING, Kirby Lambert who i went to look at his stuff specifically was sold out in like an hour. Anyhow i really met some nice gentlemen and had a cool time, this show requires one to bring LOTS and LOTS of cash.

Nice pics Ivan! Beautiful pieces. I would have been all over that 45,000 dollar Baby Bear!Unfortunately, a family isue developed which prevented me from attending

yesterday and today. Is it even worth my time to go on Sunday? Been to dozens of trade shows in my carreer and the last day is usually crappy. Maybe best to

wait for the next come around in November?
