ECCKS In NJ This Weekend!!

HOLY SHIIt ..I got towed from the BJs lot at the NYCKS ....scumbags

So did i, see further up where i wrote about it, i was fuming. Had i known there was parking in the Hotel i would have gladly parked there, i could have cared less if it would have cost me 50 bucks to park. I would have saved a 100 bucks and the damn headache of going to that shitty part of Jersey city where they towed to. Anyhow a lessoned learned, whenever i go somewhere and have no clue i will surely look for paying parking to save me the grief. Jersey City left a really bad taste in my mouth and don't know if i will go there ever again.

Yeah, that sounds like NO FUN at all

Overall I thought the show was pretty well attended - of course, by Saturday (when I went) some makers had already sold a bunch of knives, so I had to "imagine" what those might have looked like :D

There were ALOT of Italian makers there with some very high end folders - I'm guessing the market for those in Italy has taken a bit of a beating what with the financial issues and the like.

RJ Martin had a number of very nice framelocks inlaid with everything from Lightning Strike CF to mammoth and pearl....with his patented "scary scarp" blades :D

Kevin Casey had a great array of Feather Damascus fighters as well as folders and an awesome frame handle fighter

Coop was shooting knives like a madman, but he seemed to be holding up OK :p

I agree the Italian knife makers were well represented and had some insane looking knives, and insane in a wonderful way, simply stunning works of art.

One of the dealers had 2 folders by Emmanuel Esposito that were absolutely gorgeous. They both had very interesting locking mechanisims. I can't remember if they were $12,000 or 14,000 each.

The International contingent are really game changers. You will admire.

Outstanding pieces by Robert Kaufmann, Alexis Lecocq, Emmanuel Esposito (no photos :(), both Loerchners, and more.

Heading back for more this morning. Susan and I took the PATH train and taxi to Little Italy last night. Delicious and fun.

I LOVE NJ ! :)

I went on Friday and enjoyed myself. It was nice seeing Jim Treacy, Kevin Casey, Coop and others there. There was some real avant garde stuff there - and some more pedestrian offerings. A little bit for everyone. There was alkso a pretty good Cuban restaurant just down the street, and having grown up in SoFla, I loves me some ropa vieja and black bean soup but can't get any decent Cuban food where I live now, so that was a treat. I hope to be back next year - maybe in more of a buying frame of mind.

We're back. Left at 3pm, home by 4:30 driving. Lucky us!

The atmosphere was off the charts for this show. Steve D'lack mentioned attendance was up 37% on friday and saturday.

As a barometer of show success, I'd have to say it was my very best regional show EVER, (not counting the overpowering Blade shows). Really busy from start to finish.

The cleanliness of the work was VERY impressive. For this show everyone brought their 'A' game.

The Arkansas show did very well, and so did this one. We're on a nice roll.

I have a LOT of work to accomplish. I'll start my own thread when I do.

Props and shoutouts to the Fifty-Fifty production/ECCKS staff: Steve D'lack, Kylee Allen, Peter (?), and Judy Lobred.
