Economy Knives

I think the collector demand is likely. Before stumbling upon this thread I sold a blade to someone hinted at above.

I felt guilty after reading this and looked into the buyer. They had purchased several of the same model I sold.

If this was a copying scheme I would think they would be trying for a variety not one variation.

I hope these are collectors or people helping others become collectors. The fact that they may get 3X the price we can get just makes them smart for finding a market with a high demand and low supply.

The problem is we can't ever be sure if the knives are going into a collection or to a shop to be copied. Sure, the buyer "LIN" could be legitimately selling them to folks in China he thinks are collectors, and some could well be.

But if these knives are really that hard to get over there, then I can pretty much guarantee that he's selling some to folks who are helping out the counterfeiters too. :thumbdn: :grumpy: And if that's the case, well I'd personally rather see the HOGs just not selling to the guy. :rolleyes:

That's just my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions and everyone having one. ;)
