Ed Fowler in for shoulder surgery

Ed's surgery went well with no complications. there was more damage than was expected but the doc was able to fix it. Ed will be going to Eldon perkins today. I will pick him up and take him back to the willow bow soon.

Hey Ed, I had both of mine done.Years Of MuayThai & Jiu-Jitsu , 1 too many arm bars , well maybe 2  .Hurts like a B*t*h when you wake up doesn't it ? Take everyones advice and go real slooow for a while. Don't rush it and it will work.I had my left one done first and was patient with recovery and it healed well.Started training again way to soon after the right one though and its still not rite, right, write, heck I cant spell either.

Thanks Bill for posting the update. We've been up on the mountain since friday and haven't had access to the net. I talked to Amy this morning and she said Ed is doin pretty good. We appreciate everyones well wishes and of course the reinforcement that he needs to take it easy. :) He figured he would be back to hammerin a week or 2 after the surgery but I think we got him convinced that it may take a bit longer. :D Take care Ed and we'll see ya soon!

Kewl news :D :D :D

When I had surgery my wife gave me a little bell to ring when I needed something....
that only lasted two days , cause the bell got misplaced. I still wonder what happened to that bell.

The world is right again.

My son and I picked Ed up from Eldon's and returned him to the Willow Bow this afternoon. I am sure that I was feeling a tremor that Quit imediately as I crossed into Freemont county and returned him to the ranch. This trip is the longest period of time Ed has been away from the ranch in many moons. When Ed went in for his post operative check up the dotor said that every thing was looking good and that if he would do the physical therapy the way he should he would be back to swinging a hammer in no time.

Thanks Friends:
I never had anyi dea how much time this deal woud take. Were it not for Butch & Shannon, Bill Burk and his family, Eldon Perkins and His bride Amy and Tina, and my apprentice Jeffrey Davidson, none of the reparis would have hapened. I was plannig on just leting the tail go with the hide, you changed that idea. I thank you all.
As it is, I can do nothing with my right hand for a while.. Not even type, ,but a few turns and tips of the keyboard and some things happen. I keep trying to go without all the pills, that absolutely doesn't work.
Sweany:Your thought abut the bell sure sounds good, I got one that is real loud.
I also thank all of you who have offered support on the forms and phone calls.
Lots of good friends and good times in the future. I start physical therapy Fri and can't wait, have been dreaming about some great knives to build.

Ed, your chances of finding this close to you is slim to none, but see if you can find someone doing Low Level Laser Therapy (AKA Cold Laser). Real low level lasers that can have dramatic effects on soft tissue injury recovery. GM funded a study on it recently for carpal tunnel syndrome and they were floored by the results. Most of the people using 3LT in the USA are chiropractors, but they've been using it in Europe pretty heavily for 10-15 years with good results. Could make your recovery time and healing go a lot faster...
