EDC and music

... lately I have been carrying my ZT0300 and listening to traditional honky tonk by Webb Pierce and Lefty Frizzell.

... and Kitty Wells and Hank Williams and Wilma Lee and Stony Cooper and Red Sovine and Patsy Cline... Been a long time since I thought of them :).

That's a Phol Force but I don't know the model. I had my Scapivore and Para 2 at work with some ELO for the ride home.

Hmm I'll pair my Spyderco Military with probably the greatest metal song around. Megadeth - Holy Wars... The Punishment Due.

Spyderco Native gets Run To The Hills by Iron Maiden. :p

Mora Clipper gets Ghost of Perdition by Opeth.

Spyderco Centofante 4 gets Carpe by Russian Circles.

my two bf traditional GEC folders get My Generation by The Who, and A Day In The Life by The Beatles.

Case Swayback Jack gets Mess Around by Ray Charles.

Sharp playlist, goodeye. You can control the stereo anytime.

I wonder what weird hardware would pair well with The Doors ...

I'm all over the place! I love heavy metal, but I'm also an opera buff and like tango a lot. My knife tastes are also rather eclectic

I guess if I had to pick one band it would be Motorhead.

And this is one of my typical urban EDC combos.

With over a 1000 cd's, it's safe to say my musical tastes are beyond eclectic.

Love this thread, lets keep it going!

tool is amazing. unfortunately I've only ever seen Maynard perform at an A Perfect Circle concert (which was still awesome)

also, most entertaining drum solo I've ever seen live was at a Motorhead concert :)

Hey guys. I love the beer and blades thread and a while back i posted a thread about how all of my friends who carry knives are metal heads. It seemed pretty varried but id like to see if ones favorite band is reflected in their edc. IE aggressive music with an aggressive blade, classical with a traditional, etc. My favorite band is Chimaira and my EDC is the cold steel spartan.

LOL. I'm a primarily a metalhead too(I listen to a lot of stuff really, but metal more than anything else), and lately I've been carrying this:

THIS band is what I was listening to on my way to work tonight:

I love tons of metal though, of all subgenres. Maiden/Bruce Dickinson, Dio, Priest/Halford, Sabbath, Ozzy, Iced Earth, old Metallica, old Megadeth, Heathen, Overkill, Metal Church, Testament, Sabbat, Skyclad, Amon Amarth, Ouroboros, System of a Down, Savatage, Circle II Circle, Jon Oliva's Pain, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Brainstorm, Rage, Grave Digger, Running Wild, Rebellion, Spawn of Possession, Cynic, Atheist, Death, Quo Vadis, Candlemass, Blind Guardian, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Ayreon, Manilla Road, Disturbed, Dissection, Emperor, old In Flames, Children of Bodom, Kalmah, Wuthering Heights, Falconer, Ensiferum, Rob Rock, Skid Row, WASP, Twisted Sister, Motorhead, Accept, Queensryche, Threshold, Voyager, Tad Morose, (Morgana) Lefay, Angel Dust, Tarot, Nightwish, Ayreon, After Forever, Sabaton, Alice Cooper, Necrophagist, Obscura, Avantasia, early Edguy, newer Angra, Nocturnal Rites, Vicious Rumors, Sodom, Kreator, Destruction, Aria(Russian one), Master...tons more. My metal CD collection is currently over 3000 albums, so it's rather expansive.

Aside from metal, I like a lot of country, mostly older stuff and moden "alt country/Americana"-Johnny Cash, Waylon and Shooter Jennings, Charlie Daniels, Steve Earle, Slaid Cleaves, Robert Earle Keen, Charlie Robinson, The Highwaymen, Hank Williams Jr, James McMurtry, Travis Tritt, Marty Stuart, Southern Pacific, Confederate Railroad, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Jerry Lee Lewis, John Anderson, Billy Joe Shaver, Ray Wiley Hubbard, Mark David Manders, Johnny Horton, Marty Robbins, George Jones, Tom Russell, etc

I'm also big on the Irish/Celtic punk scene-Dropkick Murphys, The Pogues, Flogging Molly, Young Dubliners, Amadan, Neck, Siobhan, a few others

Plus a lot of classic rock, and the very occasional modern rock band:Tom Petty, The Who, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Travelling Wilburys, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, CCR/John Fogerty(seeing him in concert this October), Soul Asylum, The Birthday Massacre, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Kansas, Magnum/Bob Catley, Eagles, some Steve Miller Band, etc.
