EDC Fixed Blade

Right off the bat, since not sure how it would be used, I say a Buck 102 because it is light and easily carried, long enough blade for lots of chores. If you can afford more, then a Fiddleback knife, I have always liked the size of the Hiking Buddy. Tried to find a a good range in prices.

Two that I also have that I want to carry is my Red Meadow Cowbell or one of my JKs.IMG_0528.jpegIMG_0527.jpegIMG_0403.jpeg

I have been getting in to the Kizer drop bear fixed blades recently. I have a couple of 7s and just ordered a 3.

They are just cool and cheep and come with a range of options. Steels, handles, blade shapes.

This is the smallest one (i think) The drop bear fixed. Which comes with a toothpick and tweezers.

The fixed 3

I think they are really cheap for what you get.

From my own experience with EDC fixed blades, consider carry type in your decision: Pocket, belt, neck, cross draw, strong side, hip, etc. Dave Ferry ( Horsewright Horsewright ) has many options available with his knife and sheath combinations well as many pictures of these options in use. I personally have enjoyed carrying Dawson knives in their composite pocket sheaths, but I have a terrific pocket/boot sheath by Dave that has increased the utility of these knives.

I can't wait to see what you decide!

Well heck lots of ways.

Is that all you've got?

Unless you are sure you will carry it, don't get one. If you do, decide if you want four finger or three. I am too lazy to count how many pocket fixed blades I have, several from makers here. The one I carry is a Kizer Crootool (the only one I have from China) because it fits in my front pocket wallet.

Pretty much! Well maybe not.............

In all seriousness I might echo Zieg's comment that how you carry can be as important or more important than the actual knife. I say this not just as a knife maker, or as a sheath maker but as someone that has carried a fixed blade for decades and used it in some pretty rough conditions and situations.
