EDC fixed blade?

Two affordable compact Böker Plus knives, both production versions of custom designs, are very interesting for this:

- Pocket Bowie (perhaps the best of the 2 for EDC because so very portable)

If you're interested for more images and info, I made video reviews about them, they are clips 92 and 95 in my review list page .

Take a $20 bill and get ye to yon WallyWorld... and try a boxed US-made Buck #143 Paklite Skinner. If you have a few more denaro's, a hank of paracord can be wound around the skeletonized handle. You can trim away the nylon sheath's belt loop - and more - to make it a better pocket fit, if necessary. I love my Barkies & Sharpshooter pocket sheaths - but this whole knife and sheath combo is less than the least expensive such pocket sheath.

Blind horse knives Frontier valley or patch knife. not very big and very handy. Or Becker Bk11 or 14.

Thanks Quattrokid73! I check them out. I spent some time last night on the A.G. Russell site looking at small fixed blades as well.

Well, I carry one of three knives in the City Sheath:

Little Creek
Mikro Canadian
PSK

But I have the standard Adirondak Pocket Sheath (back pocket), which I can carry anything in....

And I have the Pocono front pocket sheath, which I can carry anything but my Necker in.

They all work flawlessly. There is a lack of retention after they break in on the smaller models, but it's rather safe unless you're doing acrobatics all day.

And yes, it fits standard credit cards. 4-5 of them. I carry 4...It's amazing.

Check out the Shadow Tech Talon for every day carry. Tought knife and good people to deal with.

...none of the gentlemen pictured with fixed blade edc's have the accursed shredded pocket due to folder pocket clips.

The roller chain link/clip also keeps the knife from resting against the bottom of your pocket and wearing it out.

Getting the link on the sheath can be tricky since the chain tool won't fit with the sheath in the way. I press through one pin at a time and press the plate back on first with vice grips then a punch with the lower plate sitting on something that supports the plate, but lets the pin push through.

Here's mine. I wanted a smaller blade that would be legal in more States. The blade is 2.6" S30V.

From the Arch Ally website:

Specifications
Blade: 2.63 inches
OAL: 6.00 inches
Weight: 3.1 ounces

Materials
Blade: .125 Thick S30V Stainless
Scales: G10 with Worm-Hole Pattern
Sheath: Kydex with Beadchain and Tek-lok

My favorite edc is a folder, but my smallest fixed blade is an ESEE4. I live in the country so I usually carry a becker bk2 in a custom kydex sheath.

Since i *always* have a larg-ish camera bag (Kata 3n1-30) with me (carry various from dSLR to 6x7 RB67 Pro-S medium format), i EDC:
1) CS Trailmaster
2) Leatherman Wave
3) Buck Paklite Skinner and a
4) Spydie Delica Combo edge (will be changing to a CS American Lawman soon)

Yup, it's alot, but i'm used to carrying big packs in the mountains so something smallish in the city is OK by me.
