You guys all have such beautiful pictures of your knives. I wish I could do better, but saw the other Vostok posted earlier and figured I would join in. Plus, I also just got my Laconico today and this is the first pic. I hear his logo's designed after it.

Does anyone cary a good ol' slip joint? My Case Sodbuster Jr. has opened more boxes, cut more cord, cleaned more trout, and cut more of my fingernails tha any other knife i have. She still finds her way into my pocket after the 5 years ive had it.

Trust me. I've seen it. Drooled over it. Both here and another forum I frequent. I watched you purchase it.

That's the first Laconico I saw go up. Honestly it's what enthused me about his folders. Pretty sure I coulda snagged that one but I was not ready at the time and was unsure of shipping options to Canada. This is my first honest custom folder, and my finest blade at the moment. To this day i'm not sure which out of all his folders I prefer. I'm just happy to have one of them. Plus, it's S35VN, which was a glaring hole in my steel-experience. I have plenty of D2, and most of his nowadays are made with that steel. Bonus is, it was cheap and used. It also needs sharpening. yay!

Haha, nice! Glad you picked one up. I'm sure you'll love it. Word of warning though, it'll make you want more customs.
EDIT: I just realized that I watched you buy yours too. I was in that sale thread the same time you were and I was seriously considering buying that one too. I was sort of relieved when you took it.

I realized today that what I carry isn't too absurd thanks to you guys!
However, today I had:
ZT301
Leatherman Juice S2
Streamlight PT-2L
SAK Classic
Keys to '06 Grand Cherokee
Para-Cord bracelet made by me
Duct Tape wrapped around an old gift card
Suunto Core Watch

Heh yeah I totally understand that. It took a bit of emailing and assurances to secure a cross-border transaction. I'm very glad bhess took a chance on me. I'm not one to shy away from responsabilities across the border. I'll risk it... hard part is convincing the seller. Last two across border have gone superb though. This one is the most expensive knife i've gotten through. It was left at my doorstep. My doorstep has very low traffic, and also fairly protected/hidden. I'm glad for that, otherwise I would have had to wait a day and picked it up.

edit: as far as more customs go... think I was always on that path. When I joined I was purely on a bali kick. Being illegal in Canada that was a pretty good deterrent. I was active in that community (at bladeforums) for about 6 months. Back in 2002/2003 I really wanted to get a korth, but such long waiting list plus cross border, I never did try.

Then my addiction faded for a number of years. It's been rekindled in the past few months. I always loved folders. Especially big thick ones. I got a few makers in mind. Laconico was pretty much on the top of my list. Now comes a Peter R, or WilliamWoods, or another maker of similar quality/design. I want to mention Charlie Mike from his involvement in these threads, but it seems like he's fairly new. Saw the bali's he's posted and they are interesting but lacking finesse. I think i'm missing a couple of makers that would fit the bill here. But those are the ones I see posting all the time, and seem more involved and accessible to me.

I handed my stuff to my sister so I could sit down for a 4 hour tattoo session without being in comfortable. She gave me a WTF how do you carry this much shit. I had my necker, ZT560, iPhone, wallet, truck/house keys, flashlight, work key card, 2 pens, a lighter, 500$ in 20's. I thought I was traveling lite
