I do wish they would have gotten rid of the gimmicky false edge and gone with a drop point blade

+1 This is what kept me from buying that knife

They used to be ziptied waved, but I hate the look
Since then I haven't really put back the studs. They get in the way cutting & sharpening

Besides, I can slowly open them using friction of finger pad vs the hole/wave, & being axis, fast open with flick is possible, and lastly, the wave itself. 3 ways to open without compromising cutting is good to go.

I see. I can never get enough traction on that tiny little hole, but axis does give you a quick one handed opening, forgot about that

I'll be carrying this around today.

It's a custom fixed blade made by a local maker. 1095 damascus , camel bone, and nickel silver bolsters (I think). It's ground pretty thick.

My work beater/lender is a SOGzilla small ( has worked well so far cutting packages, straps,etc.) and my other main EDC is an American Lawman. This may be replaced with the mini Recon 1 as soon as I get my hands on a couple as I want a slightly smaller EDC.
For the $60-70 pricepoint the Cold Steel Lawmans/Recons are my favorites by far.

For EL02, it's tougher, I sometimes use thumb & middle finger to pinch & overcome the axis. 763 is so smooth now that a light push will open it. Besides, my thumb skin has some callouses, usually can catch the edge of the hole. Now I can leverage the wave. It can be awkward, but that's for slow opening, so I think it's ok.

In any case, 763 is meant for sheepies environment, and EL02 more for my enjoyment. Not very much a problem
