Correct! Anyone else have thoughts? It's only a few days old. So, dirt and grime isn't the problem...

I've been carrying my brand new SOG Mini Aegis all day, but laying in bed now I've been sharpening/fondling my first "real" folding knife (aside from crappy hardware store ones that quickly crapped out on me), my SOG Flash I. Much love for SOG.

Lightweight "featherlight" Manix 2 today. Nice contrast with the strawberries, imo (one of 4 boxes my dad and I just gathered from the garden).

On a buisness trip all over Illinios so I decided to bring two cheap, but great folders.

Kershaw Salvo and CRKT McGinnis's Premonition.

My first knife in a long time. I need help! The speed safe assist doesn't engage and it's super tight. I've loosened the pivot but then the alignment is off, which then makes the blade basically touch the "liner"/handle. Thinking of returning it, thoughts? But it's what I carried today...

It sounds like the grips are too tight against the torsion bar. Try loosening the all the spine & pivot screws just a little and then check your opening speed. I have made custom scales for Kershaws before and that's what it sounds like to me.
It's either that or the torsion bar is misaligned or broken (not likely because it is new).
Nice looking knife though.
Good luck.

Greetings, Keyman:

I really like the way that looks after you swapped out the regular blade for a black one (at least I'm assuming that's the case). I tried darkening mine with etch solution and Liquid Blue, although the result is, um, rustic at best and crude at worst. Here's a picture of it, which makes it look better than it does in person. I still love the knife, though.

Cheers,
Isaeus (the name of an ancient Greek logographer who specialized in writing law-court speeches for cases involving wills and estate disputes--really exciting reading:))

Today, I'm carrying my favorite EDC knife, my Spyderco Paramilitary 2. It's my all around favorite knife and sees the most pocket time of any of my other blades. I have a second Para 2 that I sometimes swap out with this one.

An Alien briefly landed at the creek behind my office a few earth moments ago and must have dropped his Gayle Bradley. I managed to get some shots of the Alien's silhouette and some shots of the GB as it morphed itself into several spots along the creek's edge before I managed to grab it. I felt empowered somehow after I picked it up. My pocket feels warm too. I also noticed that Space Aliens must have Wicked Edge sharpening systems on their mother planet too because this GB is sharper than a Lightsaber . . . That's cool . . .
