At home it usually helps to prep my salad for the next day. I am still a student so have a pretty pathetic kitchen setup. Have one good kitchen knife but I often just opt to use my pocket knife for little stuff.

When I was in grad school I had one kitchen knife too, it was a Buck 303. :) I cannot believe I lost that thing somewhere in the move after graduation!

I have really been trying not to purchase any "new" knives but a couple of you guys have white owls that are really tempting me. I keep telling myself only rescue old knives at the flea market, plus the only new knife I had on my short list is the #62 courthouse in spring green , but I'm gonna have to add the owl to the list. Thanks fellas, I blame you :-)

It will take one heck of a knife to get the owl out of my pocket, I'll tell you that. The most comfortable knife I have ever pocketed. The single spring does magical things for comfort but it also allows a slightly meatier blade grind which I noticed this knife has in comparison to my other GEC main clip knives. It's sturdier than you'd think.

EDC:d my Case medium Stockman CV with punch, used it to cut some bananas, a pear and open a package with a book that a friend send me. First day of use for it.

Thank you Nathan,
That is a "sterile" Amherst Cutlery Peanut. It has the typical Clip/Pen blade combo, and no stamps/markings at all. Just some sweet light brown/burnt stag and some sort of stainless steel (154CM? 440x? Rosta-Frei?).
I won it in a giveaway a few years back that Thomason put on.

Ahhh thanks Stu. I remember Amherst from a few years back, they always had very nice scale material and I THINK it was mainly 154CM that was used but don't quote me on that. I had a nice little single blade slipjoint from them in blue and green mammoth ivory but sold it a while back. Too bad they had some "issues" as a "company" because they really did put out some nice looking knives. I like yours a lot

This morning it was my BM 530 and Gayle Bradley. The GB doesnt get much pocket time because of its weight but yalls pictures got me wanting to carry it.

Great bone on that Half -Whit of yours Doug. I'd like to get the Schatt Keystone version of this myself.

Today out in the country, CASE Amber Bone Mini Copperlock in the pocket. This is so light and yet offers more than enough pointy stuff. Cut open fertilizer sacks, trimmed pea-sticks, cut twine for young planted saplings, trimmed some old clematis vine. Very useful gardening knife.

Regards, Will

Vic Cadet SAK saved me today. Had a trailer full of mulch and the plastic cover blew off part way. It wrapped around the trailer wheel and axle. Lucky it happened right before a stop light. It took me about 10 mins to cut it away and get going again.

Life got in my way today. I had planned to do some whittling on a nice piece of oak and sip on a coke or two in the shade today (upper 90's in draught conditions). I ended up having to do a run to the bank and take care of some other pressing business etc. So maybe later after the sun is a little lower on the horizon.

Today, it's this....

Or it may be.....

Not really a workout more like light stretching, used my peanut to cut some jute twine, to wrap a large framed pic in cardboard ( also broken down w/ the nut) was pouring out and no contractor bags left. Used my Boker stockman's sheepsfoot to cut carrots & clip to cut sweet potato, Spey to open a bag of frozen peas, all for homemade baby food.

Wow my life has changed. :-)

Recently moved (military)...unpacking countless boxes ("why did we ship this?")...slicing the boxes open, then breaking them down with a Buck 307...what a knife!

No workout. My peanut opened two boxes. One with some fire pistons in it and the other had a couple of yellow Case stockman (1 CV and 1 SS) and a couple of yellow Case peanuts (1 CV and 1 SS).

Taken 30 seconds ago!
