EDC II Which knife or knives are you carrying today?

I've been using my John Lloyd like crazy, stripping up old flooring, sharpening pencils, trimming up some freshly cut lumber, a little bit of whittling on a break, some string and lots of cardboard. Then after a little cleaning and an edge touch up, I did some food prep. A little patina is started and the knife is doing great. Some fishing is planned for tonight if the weather holds out and the knife should get some good use then.

Kind of pedestrian here too, but I used the pen blade of the navy blue bone Case mini copperhead to scrape pine sap off the windshields of my and my son's cars (one of the not so good fringe benefits of living on a piece of land full of trees).

I chose the mch because of the SS blades. I knew I would be using goo gone to remove residue from the glass and the blade after the scraping, and did not want that on my carbon steel blades.

While cleaning the blade I was reminded how sharp this thing is, because it sliced right through my cleaning rag and into my finger.

What are your thoughts on the predator? I've had my eye on them since they came out.

I don't carry autos or really have any to speak of in my collection, but lately i had really wanted an auto. I wanted something that i could actually use, (and play with) so i went with a side opening auto, and while i was lookin i came across the predator, which is the size i like to carry, and usually autos are smaller than a 4 inch blade. I also liked the design of the knife alot. I've been using it every day for the last week or two and it's been a good EDC. It's S30v, stays real sharp and is easy to touch up on the sharpmaker. The deployment is really smooth and faster than you would expect for such a large blade. Its light to, i don't remember the exact weight, but compared to a BM 710 I don't even notice it. The aluminum handle has decent traction, not as good as G10 but even with sweaty hands you can grasp it firmly. I usually go for satin blades, but i got the black coated blade which has been good. Im currently stationed in FL, and with the humidity so high and it being so hot here, i had to wipe my 710 down with oil every day because of the rust spotting that the D2 blade would get. Don't have that problem with this blade. Finally, the price. I really think its a great deal for $160. Look at other autos with s30V blades that have as good a reputation as Piranha and they'll be anywhere from 200-350. If you are looking for a good EDC auto right now, i would definetly reccomend it.

I was going to say..... What?! I wouldn't call that crap by any stretch! I've been wanting a Hinderer for a while. My ZT 0550 doesn't cut it.... As well. :-)

Today I'm carrying a Longhorn with custom scales.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I wish you could make it to a NJ meeting. I would love to meet you and check out your collection. You've got excellent taste in sharp and pointy.

Byrd Cara Cara 2 FRN, plain edge. Ontario Pardue Utilitac II, plain edge, satin finish. This is the same knife as yesterday's, but I took off some of the hump on the spine. Ontario Rat 1, plain edge, satin finish. I hate how smooth the handles are, so I used a woodburning pen to make it gripper.
