That's a great progression! I am working on the patina on my 2011 BF EO Jack. Today it was life from the EO Jack perspective:

First an afternoon snack with some tea

Followed by some homebrew, brewed by yours truly :)

Really cool traditional Confucious. And cool that you brew your own beer too. I just finised bottling a red, stout and wheat that should be ready for my bday.

Thank you! I love brewing...I have a Belgian golden strong aging in bottles and tomorrow I will be bottling a vanilla porter :)

I hope your beers turn out well for your bday! Nothing quite like a pint of beer that you made yourself

Dang, never been a Tanto fan, but that thing looks sweet :)

Thanks Matty...it's faith that I got this Grip. I actually order a mini 557 & seller ships me the wrong model 553...I am so happy with it. It feel beefier than I thought a grip should be...

That's sucks, and is good at the same time. Cause that blade is wicked!

My Texas Jack came in handy today when I needed to cut some lengths of wood in half to fit in my bag in a hardware store today.

It opened some mail.

Then helped in the kitchen :)

Glad I kept reading, because I was going to say, "That wood looks just like mushrooms!"

Well, that's because you had two pieces of wood right? :p

LOL! Yeah, maybe so. Maybe they were really ivory instead of balsa too! :D

Fortunately they tasted a bit better. Had them with linguine, fried in lots of olive oil with garlic, sausage, pine-nuts, and sun-dried tomatoes.

Street Beat and my brother's Para 2. Been looking forward to trying that thing out. He might not get it back:D

My Case Medium Stockman helped me to make something useful out of an old cigar box.

That IS wood by the way Doug! :D

I definitely need to find some old cigar boxes! That's exactly what I need to organize my knife drawer. Great looking results for that mini-project.

On the original topic, I used my Case Texas Jack to cut some industrial-strength shrink-wrap off a couple of pallets, and tonight when I get home there will be some bags of cat litter that will need to be cut open.

Thanks JC, it was really easy to do. The box itself is really nice, I got it from a tobacconist that was selling them off very cheaply :)

This afternoon here in Mexico it was a windy 75 deg, dry and sunny day. A beautiful day to sit on the patio and whittle a little on a project that I hadn't finished completely yet. I spent the better part of an hour and a half rounding off the handle of my strop that I had made months ago. I put my new GEC #23 to work on this after I had sharpened and stropped my AGR lockback Barlow to a hair shaving edge. A nice break from the routine this afternoon. I hadn't really put the single blade trapper to work yet just carrying it and admiring it since I received it at the end of January. It carves on soft pine smoothly and is a joy in hand. I took a small foray into the sierra just a couple miles west to gather some mesquite to play around with and see how my newest handles the sticky tough wood that is mesquite a little later this week. A great day!

Congress helped with daily routines, then broke down broccoli rabe, sliced garlic, and helped me devour my ribeye, this is for you Jack.
