William, no problem. I'll have to get your DPX one of these days lol.

RG - The quality and fit and finish are great. They're spot on with this. The first run I guess had lock rock issues, mine doesn't really. It moves a little but the lock is breaking in.
When the knife is in hand, there is no movement.
The Techno didn't have that but the Albatros is still rock solid and the quality is excellent.

Boring day as far as knife use goes. Used the spey blade of the Schrade 834 to scrape off some stubborn sticky tags from a couple BPA free hot/cold double wall tumblers before putting them in the dishwasher.

Great pics Pete, you've excelled yourself there. Nice to see you're not going hungry my friend! :D Laguiole's are pretty good in the kitchen.

I'm afraid that my Abram Brooksbank didn't get to do anything other than open some packets and envelopes yesterday, and pose for some pics in the woods ;)

What's going on there with your blade? Is that from heat?

Hey there and Welcome to Bladeforums! :D That is called a patina and it is formed when a high carbon steel blade comes in contact with an acidic food or material, in this case the steel on that Spyderco Caly 3.5 is Japanese Super Blue, and has a high carbon content, this knife probably cut a steak or apple and the high acid food discolored the steel, a patina is viewed as beautiful by a lot of people here, and is even smiled upon by the community because it stands out :)

FYI a patina does not harm a blade in the slightest and is simply a discoloration or corrosion on the steel that creates an interesting pattern on some knives.

My Texas Jack was on sausage sandwich duty this morning! :D

Same as yesterday, grabbed the first one I saw this morning as I was running waaaayyyyyy late.
