Happy B-Day Jack!!!! I hope you had a wonderful time with your family

Stich....you ought to be a chef;) I bet your wife and daughter never want to eat out.

Found out the EL08 & Resilience can get unlocked if twisted when held by left hand, the lefties are now both axis. Frame & Liner lock with cutout goes to right hand.

Thanks for the compliments, Gevonovich I thought you knew my past work experience ( check post # 652), Peter I always feel like I'm talking in third person when I'm talking with you, I haven't used a recipe since I left culinary school many years ago, I can give ingredient list, but everything is by sight & feel.

Small Sebenza Insingo and Spyderco Southard today. Actually, I've had both these knives on me since I got them, the Sebenza two months ago and the Southard one. I actually haven't even felt the siren call of any other knives since I got these two.

That's a cracking card Jack...and an amusing 'senior' moment! ;p

Glad you were able to have a good get together with the family.

Happy birthday Jack!

Happy B-Day Jack!!!! I hope you had a wonderful time with your family

Thanks a lot guys, I had a great day :)

Great cooking Pete :) And great carving Mateo

Today, my knife (a Queen Workhorse Utility) hasn’t done much, other than cut a baked potato. Yesterday however, was my birthday, and I had more fun with my knives, specifically my Bladeforums 2011 Easy-Open Jack, given to me by Duncan, and my Ka-bar Peanut, given to me by Pete.*

I used my EZO Jack to open some very nice presents, many of which were knife related. I’ll post some pics of the actual knives themselves elsewhere.

Having decided to go over to the nearby town of Huddersfield with my girlfriend for the day, I decided that I was passing through two train stations on one of the busiest days in the sporting calendar (think soccer football ), I’d be better just taking my Peanut with me.

First stop in Huddersfield was a great little coffee shop for a large coffee and a bagel with pate and olives, which the Peanut cut in half.

After picking up a few knives in the busy second-hand market (pics elsewhere), it was time for my first pint, while the Peanut looked on

Lunch came in the form of some traditional British pub fare, the chip butty (a sandwich made with fried potatoes or fries). Washed down with another pint. Unfortunately, taking these pics seemed to make the entire staff of the pub suspicious that we were food critics or health inspectors (think Fawlty Towers)! If we had of been, they’d have got a great write-up! :D

I wasn’t able to photograph all the wonderful beers sampled in the next two hostelries, but this is how it wound up, with a final beer and some antipasti before heading home for supper. Had a great day :)
