worth a shot. I need to drill some holes for the clip anyway. I didn't get one with the knife, so I am waiting for a reply from Kershaw on a replacement with screws. It would be a good time to try recentering it and looking closer at the pivot. If I get time to play with it this weekend I will report back on my next EDC pic.

Thanks for your help

I also just got a svord peasant friction folder that I am going to attempt scales for. It has some unique challenges, But I hope it turns out well. IDK when those will get done tho.

EDIT: to stay on topic, or rather just add a pic. I picked this SAK up at a Flea Market here locally and it was in surprisingly great shape. tools barely used, blade was very dirty, but cleaned right up. I am very impressed with Alox SAK's, much improvement over plastic.

If anyone can give me some more information on it that would be great. I don't know the model name, or why the red symbol is different. Its a sweet little knife, but I just don't look at SAK's too much so I don't know a lot about them.
The simble is different because it is a Wenger brand not the traditional Victorinox SAK. I believe the model is a Pioneer. Great knife!

Grown, it's really starting to irritate me that you keep posting up pics of this knife.

Because now I need one....dammit.

Haha not my faut, Quiet! :D

I really like the feel of this knife and am happy with it's performance so far. Considering I got it for $26, I have no complaints!

Pull the trigger on it, buddy. If you don't like it, I'll let you send it to me for free!

I think erikj3 is correct, it's a Victorinox Soldier, not a Wenger Pioneer. You can barely see the victorinox stamp on the blade. Also, from what I recall, all Wenger's can openers look like the the curved eagle beak and don't have the small screwdriver tip.

That's not correct. The symbol is different because it's a military issue Victorinox Soldier. The symbol is the Swiss Military cross. All the other Victorinox knives have the civil service cross. The Soldier is THE swiss army knife. All Soldiers have the military contract issue date stamped on the blade. The Swiss military adopted a new model soldier in 09 with polymer handles. The Alox soldier knife in these pics was in service from 1968-2009. Earlier models are similar, but with a simple cross symbol. It is identical to the Pioneer and the Wenger SI (Wengers military contract knife) with a few small differences. The Wenger model has a bail, and the can opener is the claw type. The Pioneer has a the civil service cross, a lanyard ring, and a small flat area on the back scale for engraving. They are all excellent knives.
