What stones are you using? I like the stock ones for common steels, but they struggle with some of my harder steeled blades

The 120, 220 and 400 are aftermarket "moldmaster" silicon carbide stones from Congress tool. The others are the stock EP stones. The stock 220 and 400 grit stones are aluminum oxide so the SiC is a definite step up. I think diamond stones are your best bet when dealing with high carbide steels though

Nice Ohta, great knives at a great value! Did he include that sheath with the pocket clip for you?
The slip case came with the Ohta, the pocket clip is actually on the knife itself -

Man loving the 550, can't believe how smooth it is, more then the 0777

<COUGH...COUGH...> Wha-hunh????

I've got both of these knives and they don't begin to compare to one another in the smoothness category, IMHO. The 550 has never been known as an easy deploying knife with lots of problems reported in the old Kershaw forum regarding the detent.

Today's carry knives are my spyderco Domino and Manbug ZDP, waved BM 710 and Byrd hawkbill, the Dragonfly ZDP is my pajama pants knife.

Just got this the other day. But I'm quite happy with it. It will be my EEC for the next few weeks. First time in a long time t won't be a Spyderco.
